Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

The first thing one must do is change the course material especially in History. Let there be a lot about the glory of pre Islamic Hindu rulers their values, education governance ethics etc and tell the truth about the misdeeds of the Arab plunderers. If Americans together with blacks can teach the atrocities of slavery, why not openly teach the truth. Teach without any inhibition what the portugese and other christian organizations did in History.

Start video presentations in class having content in lucid languages and pictorial representation of basic maths or any subject. This will help in over dependence on teacher. These kind of session must be organized in each subject at least once in a week. Video presentations attracts children and help them form a better image of subject.

First of all, it's a great initiative.I suggest below points for this. 1) Let the learning be more interactive, practical and playful. 2) Teacher has to play many roles here like as a parent, friend, guide. 3) Students should not be afraid of teacher, the better student-teacher interaction, the lesser the count of drop-outs. 4) Let the students learn on themselves, divide them into groups. Ask them to compete among them. CREATE THE INTEREST in students.

I want to comment about education in villages, people move to cities for good education for there child, so why we are not providing this at there own place, which will solve many things,for this, I am having some points 1. Schools in villages should involve the village governing( gram panchayat) 2. Government of state provide infrastructure and books and one teacher who head the School. 3. three teacher in every school should be provide by gram panchayat who will be the edu. pers frm vill

Dear Madam, There is a need to create accountability. Our teachers are capable of providing good education but they don't care. Here are few steps you can take to ensure a accountability and to ensure minimum drop outs. 1. Assign each student (starting class 1) a unique student ID link it to AdharCard later. 2. There should be a central pool of teachers like in CBSE 9-12, for grades and 8 also.It should design the curriculum and activities as per CCE to maintain uniformity. Schools can log in to access. Will save immense time and workload of the teacher, leaving a lot of time for improving the quality of classroom teaching. Instead of a Qualifying TET the teacher also should be continuously assessed using the same techniques.

Moral Education is very important in building a good society. This is where countries like Germany and Japan have been instrumental in developing their society after the war. Kids are taught only values till 3rd standard. numbers and alphabets come later. Indian values came from family system. But family system is dwindling in modern age. Both the parents work the child dosent get the values it would earlier. Hence all schools must teach only moral values in LKG, UKG 1st standard.

The teachers today are required to do so much of paperwork that it drastically reduces the quality of classroom teaching.There must be a standardised and phased exam system at grade 5 and grade 8 as earlier. The exam should be conducted by a UPSC like body across the country and not by the state boards. Upto grade 5 it should be purely MCQ's and at grade 8 it should be in a 50:25:15:10 ratio of MCQ's: Short answer:Comprehension /Unseen passage: Internal Assessment.

dear madam, I am a social worker and i work in the field of education and i do field visits in government schools and i can tell you the status is very bad at the ground level. To improve the quality you have to empower the teachers. Reduce their daily paper work and give them proper training through good NGOs in India. I also want to suggest you that you should review their promotions, increments and awards on bases on the learning outcomes of their classrooms. make some policy around it.

Education should be empower for society in real not on paper only. Why should not provide skill education in school till now I.e how to make watch,calculator,motor and etc. govt. Provide lot of scholarship for students I.e for uniform, books, geomatry and etc but if manufacture the some electronic gadgets I.e calculator watch mobile lights and etc at school level by providing skill to children and which earn from this manufacture thal should be distribute among the children as scholarship.
