Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

At elementory level the students should be taught about their NATION, FREEDOM FIGHTERS and about RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS only .This would make the base strong for future .Govt should take a strict check on private school too who are making business out of education. There is a very big need to protect our culture so government main focus should be on to make Indian cultural teachings compulsory upto higher secondary level and Army training one's in a week to be compulsory in every school..

The concern of proposed New Education policy of 2015 and the existing policy of 1986 and 1968 are similar. Till date we do not have universal education pattern, syllabus among states. When Govt could manage fully endowed KVs and JNVs , and at the same time its a priority to upgrade each State Govts schools. When the basic HR and other resources are not fulfilled the learning outcome will also a concern for next decade or so.

The teachers salaries should be made very attractive. Infact should be one of the highest in industry. This will attract the best people to teaching. This will ensure that highest level of education will be provided to the students. 1 good teachers creates minimum of 50 new great students look at the multiplier. If required government should subsidize the salaries so that cost of education does not go through the roof. It would be worth it.

I would like to suggest there should be an “All India Test for Teachers” also before they could get appointment in Public Schools also. We are promoting Hindi so much and after seeing the condition of Hindi in schools, I have no hope. When this is the situation of Hindi, what should be the status of “Sanskrit”, anyone can understand.

Through this platform, I would like share my experience with our mother tongue "Hindi". What is the situation of Hindi teaching in our schools? My daughter is in class 6 and she prefer learning English. A lot of focus is given on English Literature and Language but Hindi Literature and Language are the subjects that teachers don’t care about. Children in school feel so proud that they are weak in Hindi. If some parent complains to school about this then also no action is taken.

Elementary education needs more ratio of student teacher as the child needs personal attention for understanding his and her intelligence quotient which can be increased by practical videos, infographics and charts !
