Several studies have shown that school children do not seem to acquire age appropriate skills in reading, writing and numeracy. There is a need to explore the various approaches to improve teaching–learning at the elementary stage. The objective of this theme is to understand the issues of low learning achievement levels in elementary schooling, assess the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and suggest ways and methods of improving the learning outcomes of school children which would result in enhancing the quality of elementary education.

I believe that HRD ministry should involve some eminent persons who are working in the field of education in reviewing the new education policy. One such person I know is Dr. Nitin Oke. He is from Akola, Maharashtra. Professionally, he runs an institute "Safe Hands" that has kind of revolutionised education in this part of Maharashtra. This link has his short biodata -- http://safehandsakola.org/faculties/ (Dr. Nitin Oke)

Please check the attached PDF. It is in Marathi. I'm sure you have good officers who know Marathi & can translate the matter for you without loosing its essence. Actually, this is circulating on social media & is being attributed to actor Nana Patekar. I'm not sure if he is the real author of this. But it definitely convey the meaning & essence of the current rat race that we have created...

For the improvement in primary education,we should give slate in stead of plate in the hands of children. so stop MID DAY MEAL at once. It will check corruption and improve the quality of education also.

मै चाहता हूँ की सभी स्कूल का fee बराबर होना चाहिए। RE-ADMISION के नाम पर private स्कूल द्वारा पैसा लिया जा रहा है उसे बंद करना होगा।।

I shared this earlier too. PM school transport scheme. Here all school children govt or private, upto std 10 in uniform, from 6.00 am to 7.00pm can travrl in any govt bus(excluding luxury and volvo buses) free of cost from monday to saturday. This will not only benefit the family with few hundred rs. But wlso encourage parents to send children to schiol. This loss can be recovered by other bus commuters tickets. Request for discussion on this sub and consider it.

Teaching staff shortage main problem.Giving you the example of Delhi M.C.D schools. In 20% to 30% schools are running without principals. What will be the outcome of these schools. God knows.Supervision work is not done .In M.C.D 80-90 posts of school inspectors lying vacant for many years. What type of system this is? All posts of teachers, principals, checking staff should be filled on time for good results.

Teachers must be educated to understand the minds of childrens so that the students can be educated as per students interest.Education should be made intersting and not a burden for students.
