The stage 2 of the Smart City competition is very crucial as each city’s Smart City Proposal (SCP) is supposed to contain the model chosen, whether retrofitting or redevelopment or greenfield development or a mix thereof, and additionally include Pan-City dimension with Smart Solutions. The Smart City Proposal (SCP) will also outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders. Also, a vision for the Smart City has to be prepared, and this vision should emerge from the needs, aspirations and wishes of the local people to make their city offering more to live better life.

The biggest driver of the Smart City is the smart citizen. Citizen involvement in Smart Cities is elevated. So, the Smart City Proposal will be Citizen Centric, designated after consultations with residents of the city and through active participation of various groups such as Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs), Tax Payers Associations (TPAs), Senior Citizens and Slum Dwellers Associations (SDAs).

During consultations, various issues such as areas of utmost concern, needs and priorities of citizens and different groups/associations will be identified and people centric solutions will be evolved.

Chandigarh Administration hereby invites the citizens of Chandigarh to share their views on ‘How to make Chandigarh a Smart City’. The campaign aims to increase public participation in Chandigarh Administration’s effort to garner support for the city’s quest for a Smart City tag.

The residents of Chandigarh can also post, share their ideas, views and opinions on ‘Smart Chandigarh’- the official mobile app of U.T., Administration.

Stop Expanding Chandigarh and acquiring new areas in its periphery under the UT administration. First provide basic ameneties like 24 hour water and electricity to all its existing dwellings. Expansion leads to more pressure on these basic resources. This is the BASIC RULE rule which administrators and Politicians should follow to make a SMART CITY.

Autorickshaw plying on the roads of chandigarh are increasing in number day by day. it is a situation like Delhi 8-10 years ago when there was no metro or effecient Public transport system. The adminstration should prrovide a smart public transport system apart from Busses since the busses have a wide body and occupy half the road, thus congesting the traffic. Within a short span the Aurtos will become a menance and then the admin will have no means and will to decrease their numbers.

UT/MC may find many such activities where the work can be offloaded for Chandigarh citizens to reputed dealers only dealing with reputed products. This will reduce unnecessary harassment to the residents incl Sr citizens by standing long queues,ie once to buy file, second time get ur vehicle checked, third time to submit the file & all can be in different locations. Also the rush at Govt offices like RLA will reduce.System corretion be made if any bad exp in the past by taking action agst dealer

It's an age of computers & networking. UT should offload many of activities to pvt dealers like, new car or any vehicle purchased at Chandigarh by its resident with permanent Chandigarh address, RLA procedure till issue of RC should be done by the dealer. That is all data of new car, all particulars of purchaser may be uploaded and even hard copy be submitted by dealer. Lic to do such job should be given to only reputd dealrs having capabilities to handle.Any irregulartes found cancel their lic

With successful trip of our Hon'ble PM to silicon valley, UT may prepare roadmap to attract big media cos like Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Apple, Intel etc to invest in startups in Chandigarh. Chandigarh has requisite infrastructure, talented engg students with no of IITs & other engg colleges in the region, huge market. UT may hv to showcase industrial friendly policies & incentives collectively to be able attract these cos in this region. Some part has to be joint with Punjab, HP, haryana etc

Chandigarh has lot of talent but they have to go outside city to search for Jobs. We should project Chandigarh as a startup hub and encourage industries to set up their offices here but along with development we should maintain the heritage & natural beauty of Chandigarh.

The e-rickshaws in Chandigarh should be robust, sturdy & aesthetically good looking and technically sound. Presently e-rickshaws introduced in Chandigarh are not of right quality, their wheels are wobbling, the structure is unsturdy. Super capacitors aka supercaps hv been developed & globally it is been used for various applications to give extra life to batteries.UT must look for right product since Chandigarh should set an example for others.
