Chandigarh has Govt residences in various sectors like sec-7, 22,19,23,24,25,36 etc most of houses are single storey consequent to which lot precious space or land is being wasted. Instead multi storey flats should constructed and balance land can be utilized for other useful purposes.

Chandigarh can be only smart with its infrastructur i.e. roads development
Firstly street lights should be led lights or led lantern lamps this wud help in electicity saving as well as glowing brighter chandigarh
Secondly a initiative for pedistrians . All the lights of pedestrian should be working as well as the pedestrian white lines should be darken un with reflectors .
Another thing comes bus shelters on above of that solar panels should be placed so that electricity generated can be used

My concern is why the government will make smart city which already have so many resources like Chandigarh.Rather they should make towns, cities, villages which are very backward.

A smart city should have smart educational educational institutions. The city has very good colleges, which cater to the needs of the aspiring students. However, barring a few institution, the city colleges are not very pragmatic. The faculty and staff of the colleges don't have much opportunities for their professional growth. Further, the management system of the colleges promotes stagnation. The colleges should have robust institutional mechanism for innovation and growth, which lacks now.

The city of Chandigarh has many Government residences. However their maintenance system is very old. One has to go personally to the maintenance booth of the respective sector to lodge complaint. Further, for each sector one maintenance booth looks for electrical complaints, the other one for water supply and sanitation. There should be a one stop solution of lodging a maintenance complain by phone/online, which should be track-able. Such systems are already in place in many communities.
