The stage 2 of the Smart City competition is very crucial as each city’s Smart City Proposal (SCP) is supposed to contain the model chosen, whether retrofitting or redevelopment or greenfield development or a mix thereof, and additionally include Pan-City dimension with Smart Solutions. The Smart City Proposal (SCP) will also outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders. Also, a vision for the Smart City has to be prepared, and this vision should emerge from the needs, aspirations and wishes of the local people to make their city offering more to live better life.

The biggest driver of the Smart City is the smart citizen. Citizen involvement in Smart Cities is elevated. So, the Smart City Proposal will be Citizen Centric, designated after consultations with residents of the city and through active participation of various groups such as Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs), Tax Payers Associations (TPAs), Senior Citizens and Slum Dwellers Associations (SDAs).

During consultations, various issues such as areas of utmost concern, needs and priorities of citizens and different groups/associations will be identified and people centric solutions will be evolved.

Chandigarh Administration hereby invites the citizens of Chandigarh to share their views on ‘How to make Chandigarh a Smart City’. The campaign aims to increase public participation in Chandigarh Administration’s effort to garner support for the city’s quest for a Smart City tag.

The residents of Chandigarh can also post, share their ideas, views and opinions on ‘Smart Chandigarh’- the official mobile app of U.T., Administration.

while planning to make city beautiful a smart city it should also be kept in mind that it should not meant to create a smart city with compromising its positive point. Roundals in chandigarh are one of the major architectural beauties of chandigarh. planing metro in chandigarh will lead to change in chandigarh designe. moreover chandigarh does not need a metro what is needed is a improvement in existing public transport system.

lack of public transport facility is the ket issue these days. doubling the number of buses to few routes is very important. poor public transportation leads to people choosing own vechile which in turn increasing traffic on road and several road jams can be seen nowadays. There is a need of urgent action to sort out the problem.

I think the city which are very old mismanaged must be replaced for this first make new city in an fully empty land with efficient energy supply well infrastructure and sanitation facilities the infrastructure must be such that which could last for more than 500 years just like mountain and then all the rehabitants of old city sifted to new city and old one should be destroyed and all the materials can be sold in market

I think there is need to shift the people from slumps area to well facilitied houses which come under central Govt.Provide Quality education to the children of these families. If slumps areas will washout then the city Will automatically look like a smart city...

In Subhash Nagar ground, approx. 100-125 cars are parked daily of residents and tenants in a haphazard manner and there is no system. No facility ever provided by MC or Administration to the residents of those areas. So, in my opinion One community parking can be made there, it would add to the facilities and lifestyle of residents there. They will be really thankful to you for this act of kindness. and Please do something to control traffic and chaotic situation at Manimajra Fatak. Thank you.
