The stage 2 of the Smart City competition is very crucial as each city’s Smart City Proposal (SCP) is supposed to contain the model chosen, whether retrofitting or redevelopment or greenfield development or a mix thereof, and additionally include Pan-City dimension with Smart Solutions. The Smart City Proposal (SCP) will also outline the consultations held with the city residents and other stakeholders. Also, a vision for the Smart City has to be prepared, and this vision should emerge from the needs, aspirations and wishes of the local people to make their city offering more to live better life.

The biggest driver of the Smart City is the smart citizen. Citizen involvement in Smart Cities is elevated. So, the Smart City Proposal will be Citizen Centric, designated after consultations with residents of the city and through active participation of various groups such as Residents Welfare Associations (RWAs), Tax Payers Associations (TPAs), Senior Citizens and Slum Dwellers Associations (SDAs).

During consultations, various issues such as areas of utmost concern, needs and priorities of citizens and different groups/associations will be identified and people centric solutions will be evolved.

Chandigarh Administration hereby invites the citizens of Chandigarh to share their views on ‘How to make Chandigarh a Smart City’. The campaign aims to increase public participation in Chandigarh Administration’s effort to garner support for the city’s quest for a Smart City tag.

The residents of Chandigarh can also post, share their ideas, views and opinions on ‘Smart Chandigarh’- the official mobile app of U.T., Administration.

There is ample space in Manimajra where Community Parkings can be made and that too without much efforts. One such location is at Subhash Nagar (Near Police Station) where one such parking can be made and it would help residents of Subhash Nagar and nearby areas to a large extent. You can take it as a humble request and not just a suggestion or comment from each and every citizen of those localities. Would be a great help if Administration do something in this concern. 100-125 cars parked daily.

Before my views, I would like to appreciate the efforts being done by Advisor Sir for the betterment of City and it's residents. First time, I have seen such an Active and Efficient Officer who actually walks up-to people to solve their grievances and actually works for betterment of City. Hats Off Sir. As far as suggestion is concerned, if and only if you can give Manimajra a under-pass or fly over at Railway Fatak near Modern Complex, it would be a Gift that would be cherished for long.Cont

Car parking in residential areas has become headache. Most of owners who are having or suppose to hv car parking space inside their plotted area are also choosing to park their vehicles outside their residence. UT/MC must impose parking fee for utilizing pedestrians path and use revenue collected for making security gates/ guards for the complex.

Property tax should be added in Water Charges bill for the month of April/May every year instead of asking people to complete other formalities. The assessment for the last year should be the criteria for filing property tax by residents of Chandigarh. This will not only save paper but also reduce rush at tax collection centres in future.

To solve traffic problem in mornings and evenings there should be a gap of atleast 45 minutes in opening and closing of Central/State Govt. and U.T. Offices. This will definitely ease traffic problem and help employees to register their biometric attendance well in time. Presently, everyone rushes and drive dangerously in order to reach office in time and sometimes accidents occurs. If U.T. offices are opened at 8.30 Central Offices at 9.15 and Punjab/Haryana Offices at 10.00 A.M this will help.
