I am very delighted to know about this. Since, I am contributing something related to Ministry of Defense and always would like to be part of responsible people/team lead who has motivation to change the old typical scenario and support to national security.
There are many deserving, experienced, talented and motivated people around the country. But, everyone trying to take credit, establish typical system environments but they are not the people who are going to work in the field.

In continuation of my earlier view,I have to say that country who has navel power will control world economy in future. Our main rival is China and ahead in navel power than us.In the port construction technology we can not compete with China. So dredging and harboring course may be included in INDU to counter China. Our M.Tech (dredging and harboring )course In IMU Visakhapatnam has failed to attract student due to IMU own negligence. I hope our Govt.will understand importance of navel sector

The selection criteria of students opting for these courses should be stringent and unbiased in every sense. There should not be any kind of quota except in cases of Defence Personnels. There should be Psycological evalution of students opting for these courses on the lines of SSB interviews.

It is really good of the for asking suggestions .
1. It's submitted that this university should serve both as a telent hunt for our furture leaders in defence and at the same time as a research centre for improving the present.
2. The persons for defence should hv max say in this institution even the ex servicemen should hv say.
3. Ideally it should hv only defence serving and ex servicemen persons on the bd , else it will loose its true colours in the same way MoD bcoz of Babus

I would assume that the directors and management of INDU would like to admit only those who completed PUC II because such PUC II pass students would be considered ready-made assets. But if they admit 8th class pass students then these 8th pass candidates would be more pliable and resilient, listen to their elders and teachers learn the subjects from scratch and imbibe national values in their own mental constitution and follow the dictum of the institution more honestly.

1.INDU should take in students only based on Merit, as the students graduating out will be directly/indirectly responsible for Improving/Building/Designing our National Defense technologies and our National security.
2.INDU management should also be hand picked and it should also be under merit.
3.INDU think tank should operate independently without any intervention from other Govt bodies except the PMO. At the same time, INDU should not have legislative powers.

What would elude the to be established university of quality students/researchers, would be the lack of fair opportunity. Lack of fair opportunity to aspirants for admission in the institutes. Applications criteria which is subjective in nature essentially, deprives such fair opportunity.
So I propose that there be a common comprehensive entrance test for eligible candidates, even if supplemented with other screening procedures. The success behind IITs, NLUs, and IIMs is fair competition.
