Initially, four new colleges / institutions, namely School of National Security Studies, School of Defence Technology, School of Defence Management and Centre for Distance and Open Learning are proposed to be set up at main campus at Binola, Gurgaon. The four existing Defence Institutions namely National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi, College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune are proposed to be brought under the ambit of INDU without diluting their powers or autonomy for award of degrees and diplomas.

i believe in military studies india must have there historical archieves from the british library UK to understand our historical background and that contains science that enables us to build higher defence forces our scriptures at british library uk contain a deeper insight on india then as we know of today in mahabarat the tactics are used by british and uk but not accessible to us as this historical document rightfully belongs to us!!

You must create separate "chairs" or "departments" for every significant country - like "Pakistan chair", "US chair", "China chair". There must be a psychology department because the psychology of leaders and terrorists needs to be analysed and understood. A history chair would be useful. Note that our history books are all flawed, and cannot be taken for granted. Even today UPSC entrance guide swears by outdated and discarded theories like Aryan race and Dravidian race.

There could be scope for inclusion of certain training related appointees from every ministry/department/organ. The present scheme appears to have the serving military and some law and order personnel as the consumers of the offerings of this university. This is likely to ..contd/-...

.contd./- the traditional conventional military operations. The university could be suitably enabled to integrate application. Strategy is not a commodity for just the military or the defence establishment. Similar to how the IITs and IIMs have scope for commercial exploitation of their ideas. Within the proposed confines, the university may just lose out on the epistemology of comprehensive security. Our participation in every field, even say sports, also must form part of soft power...contd/-
