if 35 mark is pass mark,25 will easily get, another 10 is frm put some study and Highest mark is 90above, so 75 is study from text books, balance 25 is from REFFERENCE books, so no one got easy highest mark, only clever will get highmark

Maculayite higher education system reminds us of colonial time when education was used to rule the Country. In free India evaluation of Indian Education must be adhered with present scenario.Our ancient wisdom through veds and upnishads have lost some where in present education system and their is need to include systematically the ancient domain of knowledge as important pillar of modern education system.

With the current nationalist government, one hopes, we can start in earnest to win freedom for the Indian Mind, which for long has been colonised by the Maculayite system of education. The most fundament question is: what for are we educating our children? Is it to fit them in the contemporary neocolonial servitude to a global americanised society? How are we to connect our youth to their roots so as to make them rediscover the uniqueness of Indian Mind? What Gandhi, Tagore, Vivekanand did.

Teachers/professors are always busy in doing clerical work(ACCREDITATION). They do not get time to study new research. Teachers should be given freedom to teach. Accreditation work should be given to non teaching staff. Even in admission process teachers are forced to get involved. All administrative and clerical work should be given to non teaching staff.

It is necessary to introduce Vedanta from pre-University to Post-graduate level as a COMPULSORY short course. That would effectively counter the effect of dirty soap-operas, digital craziness, social crimes etc and create good patriotic citizens of India.

Government reforms should introduce UNIFORM policy for quality publications in Impact Factor (>1)Journals, as done mostly in physics/chemistry, from ALL teachers that draw similar salaries irrespective of Science/Humanities. This is justice for ALL.

My definite suggestions are: (1) Scrap this UGC as it has failed to improve quality of teaching & research. (2) Today, College & University teachers are highly paid. Therefore, strictly introduce the requirement of quality publications in Impact Factor (>1) journals (maintained by bodies such as Thompson-Reuters/ Scopus) from teachers of ALL disciplines including HUMANITIES. Give them incentives for 2 such publications a year. That would raise the quality of research and teaching as well.

More than enough professional educational institutions are approved by AICTE every year. Every institute is interested in filling up the seats without looking into the quality and merit of students.

I would request the Govt. to formulate an education policy wherein the teachers are given the freedom to go beyond the syllabus and teach the students life skills...
