Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is the National Olympic Committee of India and is recognized by the International Olympic Committee. IOA is, inter alia, responsible for the preparation and participation of Indian sportspersons and teams in the Olympic Games as well as in Regional events like Commonwealth and Asian Games. The other responsibilities undertaken by the IOA include deciding the organisation of National Gamesand promoting and developing the Olympic Movement.

National Sports Federations (NSFs) are responsible for promotion and development of specific sports disciplines. Conduct of National championships and participation of Indian sportspersons and teams of a specific sports discipline in World Championships, Asian Championships and Commonwealth Championships, among others, is responsibility of the concerned NSF.

IOA and NSFs are autonomous bodies registered under Societies Registration Act. Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has been insisting with IOA and NSFs to ensure transparency and good governance in their functioning and selection of sportspersons for participation in international tournaments.

The last date for submission of your comments is 7th June, 2015.

On 26-4-15 in his speech Maan Ki baat Respected PM Mr Narendra Damodardas Modi emphasized on MAYLA MATHE PE DHONA (carrying dirt on head). The phrase was headline in each and every NEWS of the day. Is He really concern about this and made provisions of reservation in LOK SABHA, RAJYA SABHA, STATE VIDHAN SABHA, MILITARY etc etc etc ...... Such reservations are in place in other aspects of life. Respected PM Mr NARENDRA DAMODARDAS MODI SIR do you have explanation or just a speech.

VERY GOOD SPORTS PERSONALITIES LIKE SACHIN TENDULKAR OR SUNIL GAVASKAR OR DHANRAJ PILLAI OR IM VIJAYAN MUST BE THERE IN HOLD OF SPORTS MINISTRY.ALL CORRUPTED POLITITIANS LIKE SHARAD PAWAR,ARUN JAITLY AND MANY OTHERS MAY GIVEN OTHER BUISINESS.AMERICA,CHINA OR RUSSIA IS ADVANCING IN SPORTS BECAUSE OF LESS CORRUPTION.HERE IN OUR COUNTRY SPORT IS A WAY FOR GRABBING MONEY.MIS-USE OF FUND IS THE MAIN PROBLEM.IT IS TIME TO COME OUT OF THIS DRAGON !

first of there should not be any political personality assosiated with any sports assosiation...every sporting board should have sports personalities representing the same organisation.they are the peop;e who know in and out about the fedration workings and the needs of the athletes.

The question is how ministry can affect functioning of these autonomous sport agencies.I will prefer to run all sport associations by retired sportsman from army, bsf. Any sport can flourish only when there is scope of 1.Non political 2.Discipline 3.Technical support 4.Job/employment guaranty 5.Faultless Participation/selection process of correct candidate and 6. media coverage

1. Political will to get rid of politicians, retired bureaucrats from such professional sports associations 2. Sportspersons, eminent coaches and eminent citizens of national fame like Sh. E. Sreedharan, Justice G.S. Singhvi (Retd.) etc. should be the constituents of the Boards of Sports Federations and Associations. 3. Board should appoint a professional CEO to run the body 4. There should be fixed tenure of members and no political interference Regards, Rajkaran Singh Bhatti 9780005656

People who are able to identify the strength of players irrespective of the players financial background should be added in these olympic association teams. These kind of personalities could be picked up from the DD or RSTV kind of good channels too. 1. DD podhigai's Namathu virunthinar program covered Swami Gautamanandaji's narration about the Arunachal Pradesh school and the students football capabilities 2. The RSTV's The soccer queens of Rani covered the outstanding coaching of Hem Das

as per my views 1. Sports persons must have a say in important policy making. 2. there should be a feedback system to ensure accountability. 3. no politician should head any sports committee or any sports body. also bureaucracy should not come in way of matters related with sports. 4. all financial aspects of IOA and NSF should be audited by an independent agency. 5. there should be an effective and accountable complaint redress system directly under the sports ministry.
