India has an estimated 20.9 lakh people living with HIV. However, nearly 30 -35 percent of these do not know there HIV status. After a person gets infected with HIV, there is a long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years when infected person may not have any symptoms till his immunity goes down significantly and he start getting different opportunistic infection like TB, diarrhoea, fungal infection etc. Hence most of the HIV infected persons present to health system in late stage when immunity is very low and their response to treatment may not be optimal. Also during this long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years, though they are infected but may not be aware of HIV status and are capable of spreading the infection their spouse or others if they continue to indulge unprotected sex.

Early detection of PLHIV is beneficial for patient himself as he can receive timely appropriate treatment including ART as well as for the community to stop further transmission of HIV.

We invite suggestion from community/ NGO/ CBO/ Civil society and public at large their views/ ideas on How to facilitate early detection of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and put them on ART as soon as possible.

and listen no one about safai but will listen their kids for sure. -Other than a polite safai abhiyaan already on and hardly so many people will follow, there must be some sought of strict rule and fine also like in other countries just to put some mental pressure. -For Foreign Investment in India, there must be a single window in respected main countries to get all type of clearance because it is v hard in India to get the things without any approach or money and too much time is involved.

An effective way would be to spread awareness. If we know our body well we will surely detect the missing links. If we had a helpline where people could just phone and describe their ailments ( for advice & next step) after trying out home remedies -it could be helpful.

both TB and cancer are increasing potential disease now a days and can be completely( in case of TB) eradicated and be controlled in case of cancer by introducing awareness programs at both state and central level i.g. mandatory enforcement of these programs in all PSUs, educational institutions, all departments of state and center on periodic basis. because there are many who do not disclose their disease what is a threat to others and eventually die due to lack of knowledge.
