India has an estimated 20.9 lakh people living with HIV. However, nearly 30 -35 percent of these do not know there HIV status. After a person gets infected with HIV, there is a long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years when infected person may not have any symptoms till his immunity goes down significantly and he start getting different opportunistic infection like TB, diarrhoea, fungal infection etc. Hence most of the HIV infected persons present to health system in late stage when immunity is very low and their response to treatment may not be optimal. Also during this long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years, though they are infected but may not be aware of HIV status and are capable of spreading the infection their spouse or others if they continue to indulge unprotected sex.

Early detection of PLHIV is beneficial for patient himself as he can receive timely appropriate treatment including ART as well as for the community to stop further transmission of HIV.

We invite suggestion from community/ NGO/ CBO/ Civil society and public at large their views/ ideas on How to facilitate early detection of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and put them on ART as soon as possible.

Priya Pradhan Mantriji, I am living in Mumbai and I have few suggestions on improving Health of Mumbaikars. 1. The land alongside the Railway tracks is used to grow vegetables using Chemical content water thrown away by Industries or the waste water coming out of Societies/ Industries. We can either supply clean water for these Mumbai based farmers or prohibit cultivation of vegetables using contaminated water. 2. Norms for food sold on roadside and Strict Audits for restaurants.

. Modiji I salute your mission " Make in India" . I am working with Frozen Semen Laboratory, Nagpur. Every day I look at the Water Bath which maintains water temp. of 35-37 degree centigrade which has been imported from France costing Rs. 4,00,000/- which can be manufactured for 15,000/- in India. Every frozen Semen Lab in the country uses french technology because the company manages the bureaucracy. If we do not use French technology (IMV company) products our lab will loose the grade by CMU.

The whole nation is enthusiastic for extending medical facilities to ensure public health care .But in Tripura a vival and well run 100years old sub-divisional hospital,Udaipur has been put to defunct and all its medical facilities ceased by withdrawing all its doctors and nurses inspite of publicly strong protest.A worst situation has prevailed involving a vast area of Udaipur and its surrounding areas under left medically uncared stage.States Govt.do not pay any heed to public cry.

information, education, communication plays a major role in early detection of PLHIV. any person having multiple sex relationmust be encouraged to attend VCTC(in GOVT hospitals).maintaining strict confidentiality, caring approach by health care professionals definitely increases acceptance of ART. contact tracing through hivpositive person and subjecting them to VCTC ART similar to DOTS(which increased TB cure rate) must be thought of removing stigma regarding hiv...
