India has an estimated 20.9 lakh people living with HIV. However, nearly 30 -35 percent of these do not know there HIV status. After a person gets infected with HIV, there is a long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years when infected person may not have any symptoms till his immunity goes down significantly and he start getting different opportunistic infection like TB, diarrhoea, fungal infection etc. Hence most of the HIV infected persons present to health system in late stage when immunity is very low and their response to treatment may not be optimal. Also during this long asymptomatic period of 5-8 years, though they are infected but may not be aware of HIV status and are capable of spreading the infection their spouse or others if they continue to indulge unprotected sex.

Early detection of PLHIV is beneficial for patient himself as he can receive timely appropriate treatment including ART as well as for the community to stop further transmission of HIV.

We invite suggestion from community/ NGO/ CBO/ Civil society and public at large their views/ ideas on How to facilitate early detection of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and put them on ART as soon as possible.

While our Indian army soldiers are getting mercilessly killed over the LOC, our Hindi cinema or what i call nowadays Urdu-cinema is busy getting fresh talent from Pakistan. I feel bad for those jawans who are sitting on 10k feet above the sea level at temperature in which most of us would die just to save us. What do they get in return 10k monthly salary while Pakistani artists come to India and earn crores. Please like the post and take it to PM's notice. Who i'am : Son of a Retd. Army Officer

5. Burden on Goverment hospitals is reduced for OPD related Lab Test. I think it is very workable idea and will result in development of healthy India. The target should be to have atleast one collection center (franchise) for a population of 5 - 10K depening upon locality. May be started at one city and tested.

The results should be posted on the net and the franchisee can print it out and give to the person. Now these results should be acceptable by all the goverment hospitals also. ADVANTAGES : 1. A lot of people can be served in this model having PPP. 2. The govt have to only spend one time capital money and then very nominal amount on test chemicals and machine maintenance. 3. Affordable testing is provided to the public. 4. Lot of Jobs are generated in private sector at franchise level.
