India has a long tradition of excellence in making handloom products with extraordinary skills and craftsmanship. 44 lakh weavers are engaged in this activity, out of which 78% are women.

By the Handlooms (Reservation of Articles for production) Act, 1985, the Central Government has reserved articles or class of articles for exclusive production of handlooms for the protection and development of the handloom industry.
Further to this effort, the Ministry of Textiles launched “Handloom Mark” scheme with effect from 28.06.2006 for promoting and preserving the Indian handloom products and securing a premium position in the domestic as well as international market. This provides a collective identity to the handloom products of India for popularizing the hand woven products originating from the handloom sector. Thus, the Handloom Mark does not necessarily guarantee a bench mark quality for the product, but ensures only the origin of the product.

Though the weavers produce rich variety of designs and textures, there is not much emphasis on the quality of the product due to various reasons. Experience of implementing Handloom Mark in the past years indicate that this has served the limited purpose of production of cloth by handlooms and not been able to address the quality related parameters which are integral for development of handloom as a niche product.

It is stressed on the need to produce a fabric “with no defect and no effect on environment” and develop “Indian Handlooms” brand for assuring quality products meeting social and environmental compliances.

In many states, the Hindu religious places are administered by the corrupt state government boards . The state Governments formed by non believing communists and parties controlled by other religions are controlling temples which is against secularism as the churches and mosques are controlled by the respective communities.A central law to hand over administration of Hindu religious places to the recognized spiritual organisations in the sanadhana Dharma should be considered immediately

Dear sir, for proper road discipline which is one of biggest task for government to stop road accident. I am living in Dubai from one year. I surprise to see that Indian roads have no sign boards and road markings. Kindly make a target for this year to put road marking and sign boards on every road through out country for this first make a standard same for whole country. This will make country look beautiful and can reduce number of accident drastically... Please think about it sir.

An all India liquor policy which restricts the consumption by way of liquor quota is the need of the hour to save our women and children. An all India bio-metric enabled card can be issued to the interested persons and their weekly/monthly consumption of liquor should be restricted with this card . A central law in this effect will compel the state govts to act in this direction

There is an attempt by the opposition parties and the media to project the present government is for the corporates which I believe is totally wrong , However I suggest the Govt to come out with a pension scheme in the name of PM (PM PENSION SCHEME(for the poorest people like widows, old people etc). To start with say 1 cr Poorest people all over India can be selected by the district collectors and Rs 1000 Pm can be transferred through their bank accounts ( using PMJDY accounts also)

Food security-Let us not curb food security from 67% to 40 % of population. Let us transfer the subsidy for PDS items bought directly to bank account using Aadhaar as is done In LPG. As many card holders do not buy all items, subsidy towards unsought items would be saved and this can not be pilfered. This may be done without delay.

contd. The quality of products can be ensured only if there are local weaver association which quality control as per BIS norms. Therefore BIS approved weaver association should be allowed to use IS tread mark.

Ensure online presence with helpline, secured payment gateway facilities, prompt complaint handling, are some important requirements for a brand. attractive packaging, online marketing, tie-up with all major shopping outlets like Forum Mall etc would give handlooms the required mileage
