As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

Innovative technology should be developed such that Solar energy should be used to generate power useful for cold storage of agricultural produce. When solar energy is focused and rays converged on to one point lot of heat is generated. There is patent on where and how this energy is made into electricity. The UAE country is presently using this technology for power generation.

Land acquisition by Govt. development and growth has drawn lot of opposition among those who do not understand the need for growth and by those who do not want to see the Govt. fulfill its commitments to the mass. Let us start the programmes from the gross root rather than by legeslations. We must convince the farmers and farmworkers by explaing the benifits they might get when the give their lands for the welfare of the society as a whole. Correct the minds before it is correpted by oppn
