As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

If you are scincere in dealing with farmers problems and I can list out many you need to talk to farmers minus the pig headed beaucrats and so called agri scientists who have their vested interests. It would be nice if your defence minister who visits Goa regularly has initially one to one meeting to understand the problems

I have a small one acre property in Goa wherein I have started an organic plantation to deliver commercial results with out the help of the Goa Agri deptment and ICAR who only believe in traditional out dated techniques. Your current defence minister who was Goa's agri minister didn't find the time to meet me even though I am his voter He has a lot of time for Salgaonkars and Dempos You can understand farmers problems by meeting them and formulating policies after such interaction

every Muncipality should tie up farmers around them to dispose of market material(i.e fish n vegetable). This waste is gold to farmers producing. This will save the municipality time energy and money. All my kitchen waste goes into a small agricultural farm which in a week disappears with no smell to give different fruits like mango guava etc I also collect a lot of coconut husks that help soil porosity and provides potassium

Sir, Pl ask d ministry to make data bank of fertile and barren land and its productivity per year. Land use is a must and try to use barren land and other area for infrastructure and for development purposes, then and then only, your vision can be fulfilled by making farmers as a promoter/ partner. If, done so opposition would be vanished and food security for every individuals can be made by providing cold storage etc. Sir, by this you can avert the farmers untimely deaths. Pl become strong.

Every house must be encouraged to start agriculture at house premises with tax rebates. Also on terraces in flats and gated communities. Government should allocate farmers for these houses and flats who can get directly paid.People can get direct crop free from pesticides directly grown at their homes and farmers get employed with direct pay.also every inch of space in the country can be utilised.

Though it is easy to grow the Palm trees in Southern part of TN, due to reduced number of palm tree climbers these trees are not planted purposefully in many areas recently. These kind of climbing jobs should not be attached to castes. Diverse group of people should be trained by special camps and caste label to these jobs should be removed in an day to day activity in people's mindset.

Though the rural areas has many opportunities to grow the trees in common free lands, due to narrow view the opportunities are missed in many villages.People should be educated to view from different perspectives. There should be an opportunity to the rural people to collaborate with other villagers of other part of their state and country. This will widen the rural world's mindset.
