As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

-Implement Madhav Gadgil Commission reports. Ignore the resistance by stone quarry lobby and resort owners. Complete ban of Stone quarries in the ecologically sensitive areas must be implemented. -Protect the interest of ordinary farmers living in the region and implement organic farming with the help of Government agencies. -Tourism activities like jungle resorts and jungle safari operations must be restricted to Government agencies like forest department / state tourism department only.

If we want to improve the livelihoods of the villages we need improve our agriculture. Giving compensation or waiving of loans are not long term solutions. As our PM pointed out, we need to set up soil testing laboratories in each villages. We need to work towards accurate prediction of weather. Farmers should be suggested to what're all things he can grow according his soils suitability and predicted weather. If he follows above suggestions he should get affordable crop insurance.

Sir. Solar green house tunnel dryers are very much beneficial for farmers to dry their their crops and they can even use it for safe storage.Food spoilage can be avoided and only solar energy is sufficient. I have done my b.tech project on drying of chillies which shows much better quality of product than that of dried in open sun.It will be very much helpful for farmers.

One solution is to provide funding for enthusiastic students of any qualification in energy sector to work on the feasibility of Energy towers and solar chimneys for power generation which is the best way of using solar thermal energy.
