As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

1. Please join the issues like water irregation, river merger, new dams, water supply, subsidies for electric use in irrigation and crop insurances with the land requisition bill which may help and give confidence to farmers & farm lobby. 2. While the loke sabha elections approching in near future BJP and its leaders should talk about their planning for future but not to resiprocate criticism

Dear Sir/Madam, It was a great pleasure to see participation of the Panchayats and their address by Sh Namo ji . Sir as per our honorable PM's vision of sustainable agriculture practices ( 3 tier - plantation on fences , animal husbandry and cultivation of the crops ) . I would like to use this time before Monsoon to train / educate panchayats or volunteers and govt subsidised plants nurseries, compost manure , water harvesting via intense demos , youtube videos etc. Regards

We are facing an agrarian crisis and only an effort on a war footing can rescue us from this crisis, even if all the govt resources are used to tackle the situation, it is justified. PM must appoint a core team led by a highly competent and dedicated minister to formulate a strategy and execute it to fight off the crisis. The results will take time, it may take a few years at least before we see positive results. Any delay in tackling the situation may bring curtains on NDA-2 like NDA-1

The recent suicide of a farmer because of loss of crop has shocked the nation. It is absolutely necessary to safeguard the crops especially of small and marginal farmers against the vagaries of the weather. On of the simple steps which could be taken is to have a programme of construction of farm ponds in the fields of small and marginal farmers. Such farmers may not be able to undertake this programme without assistance. My suggestion is that we should include the programme of construction if f

Sir, Farmers are our God. Stop the brokers in the sales of Goods from Agriculture. Eg. Broker gives 2 rupees per kg for mango. He sold to rupees 10 /kg, without invest any money. This should be avoided. It will stop all the farmers suicide...........
