As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

Hi, PM Why don't you insist all vehicle for GPS. By doing that we can have full control on our Motor Vehicles. We can tax the vehicle on the basis of how many kilometers of public road used by that vehicle. If any body is trying to tamper the GPS system or the system is defective RTO can fine the owner of the vehicle. Every body can pay monthly bill (like eletricity & water) which is generated automatically by the system. Customer can pay the bill online. If not paid RTO can locate.

The problem of traffic within jammu city is reaching mammoth scale. There is no visible implimentation of traffic rules by the traffic police, wherein the rules are blatantly violated in front of these cops. We, the general public, is also to be blamed for these snarls, as we too feel great while violating these laid down rules. What we need is strict implimentation of the rules by the police, self discipline among the general public will follow.

Land acquisition one of the main problem is correct and early payment for the land government acquires. If the acquisition is done 1) with time defined method (payment and clearance of the acquisition file should be time bound) 2) The file should be online so that the farmer can view the movement of his file 3) The process should be lease to own so that the farmer gets rent for the land till his file is cleared 4) The price should cover inflation till payed

Dear PM: It has been 15 years since Mobile Phones had been launched in India. For Senior Citizens and Physically Disabled they can provide 10 minutes free package per day daily. For every one all providers can avail 1 or 2 minutes free call every day for everyone. This may enable any emergency calls to their families, if they don't have sufficient balance.

We should ask principal of schools to give homework to children in prep/1st class to plant a tree. And also give a note to their parents to take care of tree for the next 3 years as a homework and make a scrapbook file of pics of that tree growth after every 1 month. As we know nowadays parents do anything if it is asked by a school for children. So definitely after this movement there will b more and more trees plantation soon and soon there will b more and more matured tress within 3-4 years.

Dear PMO: For every suggestion I gain 20 points. So far I have accumulated 1030 points. What does this mean? Do I enter into some competition, win some prize, what ever? Please advise. Also, I suggest that where a certain suggestion is acted upon in some form, the writer should be advised. This will inspire him or her to take more interest in giving future suggestions. Thanks very much. Sudesh
