As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

kanha is the best example of nature conservation, i would suggest that instead of looking at gir or jim corbett we should borrow the example from the nilgiri forests in south India and kanha forest in MP

i think that there is a lots of way to manage natural resources first and foremost thing to preserve our jungles, second to increase the area of cultivating land, third to literate the rural people for the jungle products like herbs and other products and to create the direct market for them without mediator ,fourth to allocate the natural resources and to make proper plan likes coal mining iron, ore mining and try to identify that the illegal mining is not happen likes happen in orrisa ,

GM (genetic modified) food are extremely toxic and dangerous. it will destroy food security, biodiversity, affect health of living being. Please dont play with nature. Nature loves us only thing is we have to reciprocate back. we can achieve our food targets by adopting natural practice like vermicompost/biocompost/biological control of pest and various methods. we dont even need to use fertilisers or any harful chemical. I have done research and I am confident.

Following steps can be taken to make India Greener 1. Plant good fruit bearing trees all along the NH/SH roads rather than ornamental plants. 2. Give right of income from these tree produce along with duty of tree protection to Local Panchayats. 3. Make rain water harvesting compulsory in schools, stations, banks and ALL GOVT Establishments. 4.Rejuvenate tank beds and don't permit any borewells. (Encroachment and polluting of water source to be made criminal) 5. Stirctly BAN Plastic

Budget suggestion - dear MODI ji/ Arun sir, pls see that Capital gain tax can be made exempted in case the proceeds are invested in a investment fund created for india long term infrastructure. The lock in period can be made for a minimum of 5 years along with a decent tax free or moderate taxable return. By this manner unproductive assets can be converted for real infrastructure in indias growth story. Thanks.

beti bachao programme will not be effective in india unless with some income tax incentives /decentives along with criminal liability over family.I request the government to make sex determination compulsory , pregnancy should be registered with aadhar number, follow up should be done by govt.agencies till delivery of child, if there is any discrepancy regarding child delivery, criminal case can be imposed over whole of the family just like dowry case where other family members held responsible.

Agri research is not reaching the farmers. The university scientists need to work in villages at least 3 years with farmers to educate them regarding organic farming, soil conservation and use of natural resources. Youths are moving to cities making the villages as old age homes. Youths shall be encouraged to take up agri related career. Community farming rather than small farming helps farmers. NAREGA should provide labours to agri work only. Development shall be sustainable with nature.

I love my country want to establish it as superpower (because it has always been) but in the course of development we should not loose focus on present and future liabilities. I am confident we can be free from crude oil import and reduce on non renewable energy and nuclear is the worst of all non renewable energy. Go Wind/Solar/Biofuel. improve efficiency http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_phase-out http://www.powermag.com/delays-and-more-costs-for-plant-vogtle-nuclear-expansion/
