As the Indian population continues to grow there will be an immense competition for natural resources while achieving food, nutritional, environmental and livelihood security in the country. In addition, the negative consequences of climate change become more evident in agriculture with exploitation of natural resources, decline in soil fertility, ground water levels to meet the ever increasing demands for food and nutritional requirements. To maintain sustainable balance between natural resources and the demand, immediate attention is needed in several areas viz., imbalanced use of fertilizers, declining soil organic carbon, lowering of water table, soil health, organic farming and climate change impact in agriculture sector.

Recent studies on soil biodiversity, rapid composting techniques, use of bio-filters for removal of heavy metals from compost, application of Nano sensors in agriculture to improve nutrient use efficiency, need based fortification of micro nutrients; availability of soil health card, conservation agriculture for enhancing soil health etc. will support sustainable management of natural resources in agriculture.

With a particular focus on scientific and technical understanding of natural resources management, this portal tries to incorporate stakeholders suggestions in achieving sustainable natural resources management.

Namaskar Modiji, i am part of Sangh and BJP member, but unfortunately apart from your good steps for development of India, i am in opposite to New "Land Acquisition Act" .. Defiantly Farmers will suffer more because of this and this will make negative impact on BJP future .. Hope u will consider common man ( farmer ) and will do some correction in this law .. Thanks

I am a citizen of Bharat , My article is about , Bharat has not yet got Indepedence completely, Same as is like the olden days Ramarajya. Because the reasons are According to the nature All the five elements of Panchabhutas i.e 1) Land 2) Water 3)Sky 4) Air 5) Fire will apply on All Human beings & animals also . There should not be any Difference , only then we Will get the real & complete independence to Bharat Same as it is like the Ramarajya.

When land acquisition is opted the Govt. must look for high holdings lands from few owners instead large no of small farmers. This may attract less opposition and time. When high holdings are selected the question of resettlement proses and court cases will be minimized. This may facilitate to attract the landlords to participate in management or share in profits. Thus minimize compensations.Certain %age of employment in project be assured to locals.Law may incorporate Points . .

As we all have been reading that the pollution levels are increasing dramatically in the urban areas and especially in the capital region of Delhi an NCR, I have a solution... Since there is a shortage of land, implementation of large scale afforestation is practically impossible. So we can urge that planting of small trees should be done on the terraces of buildings. At least something is better than nothing. Eventually, the govt. can make it mandatory for all the buildings to do this..
