Existence of insanitary latrines is the root cause of manual scavenging. As per the ‘Houselisting and Housing Census Data, 2011’, there were about 26 lakh insanitary latrines in the country in 2011. All existing insanitary latrines need to be identified and either demolished or converted into sanitary latrines under the provisions of the MS Act.

What innovations can be used to convert insanitary latrines into sanitary latrines in shortest possible time?

First we have to improve the basic conditions of civic and increase the technology in cleaning particular for sewage and sanitary waste. I had seen very back that the dumping of waste was used with some development for creating a ground for golf ground . Can we make study how other countries get rid of there waste in optimal way and develop same technological advancement here in INDIA. Also for Waste we can treat it till the waste water becomes as clear as clean water .WE can !!!!

we make black money because we have no system of land purchase/sale, industry, income tax system,we have no service tax system, why we do not make direct one tax system ? why we have lot department of our taxation, you knw Indian business man never pay right tax on his business why ? that is our fault, we have no stronger stretchers for tax,if 10 lac profit per year then only income tax is we pay approx 1 lac so people do ideas for saving tax,if we do so black money stops, 100% business in book,

land rate every years more then 25 % up and many builder and farmer do chatting, they sale land ya flat more one time ya two time, and court case when case result come then 15 years gone for our life is over, why ? why we not make our land sale purchase computerize government`s program, that time we have same but you know people do not do 100% amount`s registry, if flat total cost 50 lac then we all do 30 % to 40 % registry for land purchase agreement so government government get lot loss income

Effective use of media to depict the ill-effects of defecating in open.. water connectivity is lacking in villages and most of the towns which fails use of latrines.. People are facing water shortage even for drinking, how come they are expected to use water in that quantity for cleaning toilets.. Improvement in water connectivity in must before advancing further..

Make Toilet cleaning on PPP model, Put the Public servants for Auditor and for cleaning the Toilet, Put the private servants. If you see in the IT companies for House keeping they have maintained the standard which can also be implemented for public toilet

Every city or the closest city to a village should have animal homes where all stray animals should be kept, i stay in Dubai, UAE and havent seen a single stray animal. Animal homes will not only provide them with basic necessity of food, necessary medication but will also control the numerous animal fatalities and cruelty towards animals. This will also keep the country clean as we can see these stray animals excreting and urinating everywhere. and also help in reducing spread of diseases

The mentality of people in my state (Bengal) is still very much in the stone age era. The state mostly consists of senior citizens who are very reluctant to change. Then there is illegal immigrant issue. So imposing sanitation rules is a tricky situation. There are so many old office buildings where bathrooms are very un hygenic specially for the ladies. If the center is really keen to bring about change in Bengal, then it has to first depute a special group to study the basic problems.

For manual free scavanging - it should be mandatory for all to give garbage separately as(1) bio-degradable,(2) plastics, polythene etc non degradable and (3) electronics. The collection agencies should accordingly collect it regularly. Training to garbage collectors be provided through RWA's session.
