To offset the extreme paucity of drinking water , the government can procure packaged drinking water from licensed manufacturers, transport the same through rail and distribute through PDS Shops (Ration Shops). A minimum support price can be offered to water manufacturers (just as it is offered to farmers), this will enable packaged water manufacturers to offer their products to the government and should be a win win situation. Alternatively the govt can also source through tendering system.

rain water harvesting in societies and two separate lines of usable water ; drinking water for drinking and bath and for toilet flush, construction work, for gardening purpose another water line of recycled water should be used. water meters for the drinking water be introduced. The recycled water should be in a color like blue or so. so that it will not be wrongly used for drinking purpose.

Rain water harvesting will be effective if citizens behave in a respectful manner to nature but we have just intellectuals who will talk about the problems and not the solutions. I have proposed some direct solution to the water crisis problem that can have better result with just the involvement on government. my ideas: 1. how to prevent water wastage into the sea. 2. storing the water that runs into the river during rain season with pumping it into Reservoir. methods to make it efficient.

We should use nature's reservoir of water to store Rain water by purification. By this method we can save money which we spend in making man made reservoir. Like Ground water stored in our mother lad. We use it during summer and winter so there is some empty space which made by us using it, my idea is that we can refill it with purified Rain water.
Than how to stop wastage of water for that we can start camping like swach Bharat Abhiyan.
In school syllabus we can add lesson on it.
Thank You.

1.Water storage in artificial ponds in residential areas can be made by digging pit on earth and covering with tarpaulin sheets which will not drain out stored water as done in desert countries of Arab.

1.why not decreasing the size of the nozzle diameter of taps to considerable mm.Even people who have the habit of keeping the tap open during brushing or shaving..will comparatively loose less money.
2.Increase a cap on water bill and some compensation/benefit for using comparatively less water against a family's capacity.
3.Try to advertise the use of toilet papers in toilet rather than using water.

Dear Sir,
I have an idea for water saving in country.
In most of the houses there is a tendency for daily floor getting cleaned with water ( "poocha").However daily brooming of the surface will also clean floor.
We can start a campaign about no daily Poocha. Once or twice a week , this should be done by all citizens.
It will save a tremendous amount of water in India. And may help our fellow citizens in maharashtra who are seeing acute water crisis...Target wones to understand this.

We as citizens can plant trees on rooftop which will help to solve the problem of rainfall . measures can also be taken if we plant trees in open places in our locality .which I have a lot of open places I had written mail to Government authorities but have not received any reply from them so far .As this is a large area I would not be pissivle do this without support .If anyone has any interest in my idea they can support me .Any replies would be accepted

Salt farms can double up as water purification. We have many salt farms near the sea shore, if the area is covered with Glass in a tapering shape, the evaporated water can be collected and will be the purest form of water which can be used for any purpose such as industrial or domestic. This will be a cost effective way and a side product of salt farms
