Water is a vital resource for life, and for the economy. Nowadays, one of the most serious challenges to solve and manage the water scarcity. With the depletion of water resources, the demand for quality water is increasing day by day. Water utilities are under pressure to provide good quality water, but are struggling with their outdated infrastructure at the same time. Furthermore, one of the major concerns of water utilities is the increasing wastage and pollution of water bodies caused due to metering errors, leaks, pipe bursts, and industrial waste. To manage all these issues, water utilities have to come up with smart water management solutions and techniques.

IoT may be used in potable water monitoring tools to monitor the quality of tap water in all government owned education institutes and public places. It should be applied in real-time detection of leakages and wastes of factories in rivers and other natural water bodies. It can also be used in monitoring of water level variations in rivers, dams and reservoirs, for proactive disaster management.

Smart water management is the combination of smart hardware, smart solutions, and smart services integrated together to minimize wastage and optimize the utilization. Intelligent use of information and analytics can be leveraged to deliver improved outcomes across the water management lifecycle.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on how IOT can be used in:

• Demand Forecasting and Allocation of water resources
• Water Quality Testing
• Infrastructure Management
• Improve Preparedness and Response to water management system

Your suggestions on the above topics will help us to make an integrated view and plan of action for Smart Water development by applying IoT and analytics.

Many persons in cities, towns, villages wash their linen/cloths in the river, ponds, lakes itself. This spoils the entire water in these water bodies. Hence, all are to be requested to collect water from the water bodies and wash their cloths away from them. Even many vehicles are cleaned by taking them directly into the lakes/ponds. All this is to be stopped by generating awareness among the public. This enables the available water to be as pure as possible.

Farmers have been given economic facility but this is not scrupulasly monitor, or supervised. More over big farmers take the benit of the Scheme and also of the Income Tax.This should be stoped and equited with the Urban Poor, and Middle class. This can be achived by slightly raising Income taxable Limits on Uban Middal Classand Rasing Small Tax on Big Farm Land Holders. Andthey should be compulsoryly made to Pay By way of Levy in Kind.In that fund Rain,Conservation schems should be funded.

Water is Life. The Era of big dams is over. Government cannot produce water. The individual has to save water by minimizing misuse, changing lifestyle, rain water harvesting and Govt. Authorities have to monitor strictly. Water wastage by leakage in pipeline, condemn tanks is duty of Govt. Deptt. (PDW etc who is responsible). Public have to awake and be more serious towards water wastage. Autonomous bodies, NGOs, religious sectors approaches should be involved. www.turntheview.com

At first, we need to calculate the total water uses in different section in %, like... as mineral water, pure water from water tank, industry uses, domestic uses and wastage, water tube failure wastage, boiler etc and many other section. now, we need to fix a proper plan that how much we can regain water from wastage & reduce wastage. And also we need to think from where we can not get pure water/ can't regain from wastage. finally, when proper plan is ready, then we can start our survey.
