Water is a vital resource for life, and for the economy. Nowadays, one of the most serious challenges to solve and manage the water scarcity. With the depletion of water resources, the demand for quality water is increasing day by day. Water utilities are under pressure to provide good quality water, but are struggling with their outdated infrastructure at the same time. Furthermore, one of the major concerns of water utilities is the increasing wastage and pollution of water bodies caused due to metering errors, leaks, pipe bursts, and industrial waste. To manage all these issues, water utilities have to come up with smart water management solutions and techniques.

IoT may be used in potable water monitoring tools to monitor the quality of tap water in all government owned education institutes and public places. It should be applied in real-time detection of leakages and wastes of factories in rivers and other natural water bodies. It can also be used in monitoring of water level variations in rivers, dams and reservoirs, for proactive disaster management.

Smart water management is the combination of smart hardware, smart solutions, and smart services integrated together to minimize wastage and optimize the utilization. Intelligent use of information and analytics can be leveraged to deliver improved outcomes across the water management lifecycle.

With the help of this discussion platform we request you to share your valuable inputs on how IOT can be used in:

• Demand Forecasting and Allocation of water resources
• Water Quality Testing
• Infrastructure Management
• Improve Preparedness and Response to water management system

Your suggestions on the above topics will help us to make an integrated view and plan of action for Smart Water development by applying IoT and analytics.

Dear PM, 1. Integrate all the rivers of India and create one national water grid for all states to use the scarce resource wisely. 2. Build more plans to recharge ground water. 3. Build more dams and connect all dams. Save the water that are mixing in sea. 4. Take control of all water bodies from state government (dams, rivers). 5. By joining rivers and dams we can stop the waters mixing in sea and can also share rain water between the state. it will give more revenue to govt and farmours

If desert countries like Israel and UAE can solve their water problem, why not India. The solution adopted by them was sea water desalination on a major scale.

Dear Narendra Bhai Modiji, I've great regards for you as PM of this great nation. I saw a report on water scarcity and non-availability of pure drinking water in many districts of Maharashtra. There are only two solutions for this grim and unfortunate situation. 1. Integrate all the rivers of India and create one national water grid for all states to use the scarce resource wisely. 2. Why can't we build 100 desalination plants in each state and transport clean water to all districts.

A) All rivers to be made 3 mtr deep. Width as per river banks for entire length. The earth removed to be used to elevate height of river bank will resist dust dirt garbage to go in river. Water storage will increase by not acquiring / affecting a single inch land B)All ancient water resources & reservoirs to be made free & clean.C)All construction to be made compulsory for 100 % rain water harvesting D) Government est to use for Packaged drinking water sources & fit with Water Vending Machines

To save water we should look into following things. 1. install a smart meter to moniter thse consumption of water.limits the quantity of water supply to each house hold through smart meter.if they are using more than their demand, extra high changes should be levid. 2.develop a app to report pipe leakage or pipe brust. anyone can take a pic and that should be uploaded ito this app and app should be able to map this pic with accurate geo location. I will upload a file describing in detail step

1) The water absorption capacity of open areas in cities has reduced to zero due to unchecked concretization. Use of paver blocks in place of concrete floors can help in allowing seepage of rain water in the soil and raise the water table. 2) Treatment of wastewater so as to make it usable at least for flushing, floor washing &gardening should be encouraged. Decentralised wastewater treatment systems are very cost effective for this purpose. They can be easily constructed & are maintenance free

It is very important that we save the water which is stored. So, is the number of places water is stored.I have learned that most of the river water goes into the oceans and we can reduce the amount by construction of dams and barrages on the rivers.I also found that there are a lot of projects struck in interstate conflicts.I think it is very important that the process of solving these conflicts run smooth and that center can do a lot on this issue. #SmartWaterManagement #SaveWater #MyGov #IoT

1. Reduce the shower time by just few minutes. 2. Don’t leave faucets running; turn water off while brushing teach, washing face and shaving. 3. Report water leaks to maintenance right away. 4. Soak pots and pans instead of allowing the water to run while you scrape them clean. 5. For cleaning dish wash, dry the dish after immediate use, cleanse it in a bucket with sufficient water.

Each village should have at least one Lake. Lakes should be made deep enough to harvest rain water sufficiently until next rainy season.
