Using RO (Reverse Osmosis) for purification of water is very wasteful as for every litre of purified water, around 3-4 litres of water is wasted. Suggestion: 1) The permission of using RO should be given only if a proper mechanism of using the waste water is installed. 2) In townships and housing complexes, there should be a mandatory drainage systems such that the waste RO water can be collected centrally for subsequent use. For 100 houses, around 22 lac ltrs of water can be saved annually.

Following may be helpful in this regards. 1. Compulsory water harvesting in all villages, towns, cities and metro viz all over india. 2. For poor people cost to be incurred by local authority. 3. Audit of harvesting whether carried out by people or local authority. 4. Fine in terms of jail of three months in case harvesting is not there in building or house. 5. Water bill should be raised by local body based on usage of water then people wasting water can stop wasting

Watershed developments as were initiated by Rajendra Singh in Alwar is a good model. Another mandatory issue can be 1. Rain water harvesting in all buildings 2. Stop developing open lawns in publuc parks but develope gardens as urban forests with walking trails. It will reduce water loss and increase air quality on urban ateas 3. Ban water based desert coolers. Each cooler takes 75 litres per fill needing 300 ltr perday against per capita water need of 1000 litres for food/cleaning/washing

बरसात के पानी की सही मैनेजमेंट नहीं होने से एवं अधिक मात्रा में पेंडों की कटाई के कारण आज ये दिन देखने को मिल रहा है; हर एक व्‍यक्ति का कर्त्‍तव्‍य है कि वे इस दिशा में ध्‍यान दे तो वह दिन दुर नहीं है कि हम पहले से जैसे सुख एवं ऐश्‍वर्य को प्राप्‍त न कर सके; प्रकति की दी हुई प्रत्‍येक उपहार का सम्‍मान करना जिस दिन हम सीख जायेंगे जिंदगी कुछ और हो जायेगी;
