Still we are owing free areas of land throughout the country. but we are lacking in building watersheds.this pave the way to cause a heavy damage in case of floods.not only they are useful for agriculture purpose they may be used for overcoming these floods. based on the natural topography, their gravitational flow watersheds must be built in short time to prevent the timely damage of floods. for example in Cambodia there exist a good water management system from the past.

But the poor urban community will only get involve if there is something for them to earn and supplement their lively hood. The social forestry department plants some useless trees which the settlers cut down in no time. My idea is that they should plant some low maintenance fruit /vegetable bearing trees like orange, lemon, jackfruit, papayas, etc so that the people of communities can earn or at least eat. My feeling is that they will never detory a tree that gives them food or extra income 2/2

This is with regards to Guwahati City which faces urban flooding every monsoon. This city is surrounded by hills on all sides and the Brahmaputra river on one side. But due to unorganized and illegal settlement the vegetative cover on the city hills have been destroyed causing heavy silting in the downhill areas choking the drains and thus creating flood. A good community based watershen management program is required to save the hills and mitigate urban flooding. 1/2

Sir,rain water harvesting and borewell recharge and also well recharge system should be made in order to solve the water problem.Govt should provide some subsidy to encourage it.roof water harvesting should be made compulsory by municipal corporation or gram panchayat.

Being a staunch supporter of the present government my suggestion is to create.l a on line mechanism to ensure vegetable prices are kept under check. This is the single biggest feel good factor for a coining man. Our food and supply minister must be proactive to ensure this,

P.M Sir, as I'm born and brought up in Delhi, so during rains we've seen a lot of rain water wasting in the drains and choking the drains. In most of the colonies in Delhi (like Patel Nagar) have so many parks. if we implement water harvesting in the parks and direct the road water into it, in that way we can save the drains from choking and collect good amount of water. Same we can applied under rail bridges (like Minto or Shivaji) where we've seen water logging and traffic jams. Thanks Vikas
