A separate profit Center should be created to cater to freight/cargo business. That should be operated on the models of a Logistic Company .Goods collection to door step delivery services should be provided.A portal should be created where in customers can track movement of their goods via Railways.Faster delivery of material will ensure increase in customer base leading to higher revenues. It may also lead to creation of new jobs in this sector. #MyGov,#IndianRailways,#NonFareRevenue,#Railways

freight wagons should be attached, say 1 or 2 compartments, with regular short distance rails to promote local cargo movement through railways, and secondly, one compartment needs to be converted as shopping place and gym/yoga centre in long-distanced rails to attract additional income through rent/profit.

Can reduce the paper usage of Tickets, List of passengers sheet with TTR, list of passanger sheets used to paste on trains. Instead of that make all tickets as e-ticket, provide TTR with a tablet computer for ticket verifications, keep digital displays on every compartment to show passengers name list.. These can reduce the usage of paper and wastage of paper. Thank you

provide options for people who are abroad to can create IRCTC Tickets online. Currently it is only available if you allow an Indian mobile number. This will heavily open up huge global investment but at the same time the servers need to be upgraded to handle the huge volume of traffic.

Goods train should be encouraged to generate revenue.
outsourcing should be discouraged as majority of profit earned by railways are shared by out source agencies. planning and research team should be strengthen to minimise inappropriate expenditure.maintenance and engineering department should be encouraged to do on time performance to avoid delay and save revenue. TTE should be given right to book seat in between station to avoid vacant seat in running train.

The rail engines and some coaches can be enabled with solar panel on their roof and also the railway platform's roof can be used for establishing solar power plant.so, this can generate electricity required for the runing the train and also for platform maintenance, it will leads to less consumption of other sources of electricity which are costly and limited this will cut down the operating cost of the department.

idea no.2:railway may open mechanized kitchens at distance of 200-400 KM to serve better ,faster, healthier, cheaper and uniform quality and standard across the country ,thereby increasing employment(railway as well as outsourced) ,revenue, and great image makeover.
