Thousands of train tickets all around India remain RAC (Reservation against cancellation) on a daily basis, and the railways allots only half birth (one birth is shared between two passengers) at full fare. My question as a regular traveler is, why Railways can’t refund at least 40% if not 50% of actual fare to the passengers travelling on RAC tickets with only half birth? Why the largest asset of Indian government is so unfair with its passengers across India?
