Respected Finance Minister. In our country prices of various commodities both finished and unfinished goods , food items, agricultural products. and other essential items are not controlled by the government. It is the producers who decides the price. some times it is not justified. 20% to 40%or more are increased at a time. It is requested to make effective laws so that whenever prices of commodities are increased it is to be informed to the government with justification and reason for any increment may be monitored by officials of the government. producer of the products must be send application to the government for any increase. Some of the countries adapt this policy. without govt. approval prices cannot be increased.

Ever since the introduction of the GST in 2017, there haven’t been any major tax increases even as the prices of tobacco products have gone up, giving way to increased industry profit margins. The per capita income growth has also made all tobacco products more affordable. In effect, it implies that the government has forgone an important source of revenue over the past 4 years, that could have been used during the COVID-19 pandemic. I request Nirmala Sitharaman madam to increase taxes on bidi, cigarette and other tobacco products in the Union Budget 2022-23 to ensure that fewer people buy cancer-causing tobacco.

PRESENTLY REPAYMENT TOWARDS PRINCIPAL IS EXEMPTED FROM INCOME TAX UNDER SECTION 80 (C) WITHIN THE OVERALL LIMIT OF RS 150000 ELIGIBLE UNDER SECTION 80(C) . IF THE REPAYMENT OF PRINCIPAL TOWARDS HOUSING LOAN IS BROUGHT OUTSIDE THE OVERALL LIMIT OF RS 150000 UNDER SECTION 80(C) , IT WOULD ENCOURAGE MORE PERSONS TO AVAIL HOUSING LOAN THEREBY INCREASE SPENDING UNDER INFRASTRUCTURE.

# Taxation (E-way Bill) 1. Make E-way Bill compulsory for every commodity(on selling wheat it is exempted it may be possible some industrialists can take benefit from it, so make it compulsory even choose 0% slot it it) and even transported to one kilometre. 2. Add one more option in E-way Bill (*Is any other tax central/ state and other imposed on this Bill if yes please mention) so that govt can have record of other taxes also. i.e. APMC taxes collected by state authorities. 3. Tax collected through liquor should be Fully and directly collected by the tender person/ allotted company so that commission agent reduced and tax collection of govt increased (take example of Delhi Government their tax increased from 6000 Crore to 9500 Crore without opening any new branch.) #Education Industry 1. Reduce tax imposed on educational services from 18% to 5% and exempted the Entrance and recruitment exam from tax slabs. 2. Kindly look into the edtech industry which is looting public by promising any thing and showing whatever attract the public (Even which advertisement is not real case of wolf gupta in whitehatjr. Company). Make some law of taking benefits specially from edtech industry (Take example from China who restricted these edtech company to make a huge profits. ) 3. Kindly look into the self financed courses started by the Government Institution, either they are beneficial for students and society or the institution just started to collect fee and for development of their own department/ infrastructure/ facilities used by the faculty. Kindly check the return on investment by students. (Business Economist),BHU
