The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
a. Waste management and zero waste systems
b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

How to participate?
1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

1) organise pavements for walking with carpets. Structured movement of people keeps the place in control of activities that affect peace of mind and conduct in the environment. 2) establish closed bins in and around the temple. With a warning sign to use only bins. This is governments responsibility to implement civic sense through awareness and laws. 3) keep the surroundings aesthetically respectful by adding walls around trees, implementing sitting benches or floor sit mats, boards with warning to not be louder. Establishing all the these in appropriate places guides people what is allowed to do in the environment by also protecting dignity of the temple. 4)establish water sheds, shade sheds, keeping shops in and around in a hygienic manner with same rules as in temple can attract more of tourists. 5)ensure enough security guards and surveillance are there to prevent crimes, and crowding, even during important days. Crowding must be two feet gap between each or family.

उत्तराखंड का सबसे बड़ा दुख सिर्फ पलायन नहीं, बल्कि वो नेता हैं जो चुनाव जीतने के बाद देहरादून भाग जाते हैं। जो नेता चुनाव के समय गाँव-गाँव घूमते हैं, वही जीतने के बाद पहाड़ भूल जाते हैं। एक आम आदमी 10 साल नौकरी करके भी गाड़ी, बंगला और बड़ी प्रॉपर्टी नहीं बना पाता, लेकिन कई नेता सिर्फ 1-2 साल में करोड़पति बन जाते हैं। आखिर ये पैसा आता कहाँ से है? अगर नेताओं के बच्चे भी पहाड़ के सरकारी स्कूलों में पढ़ें, अगर उनके परिवार भी गाँव में रहें, तो सड़क, अस्पताल, स्कूल और रोजगार अपने आप सुधर जाएंगे। पहाड़ का विकास भाषणों से नहीं, पहाड़ में रहकर काम करने से होगा।

उत्तराखंड मे पलायन का मुख्य कारण रोजगार के साधन का आभाव अगर रोजगार हो तो लोग पहाड़ो मे रुकेंगे फिर स्कूल स्वास्थ्य की व्यवस्था भी तभी होंगी जब पब्लिक होंगी जंगल भी बच्चे रहेंगे देसी खाध्यान भी होगा भैंस पालन भी होगा जानवर भी बस्तयों मे नहीं आएंगे जब gaun मे चार परिवार है तो वो कैसे जंगल जायेंगे घास के liye भालू बाग दिन दोपहर मे घुमते है पहाड़ो मे इसलिए सबसे पहले रोजगार के साधन पैदा करने चाइये गवर्नमेंट को तभी पहाड़ बच सकता है वरना यहाँ भालू बाग के सिवा कुछ नहीं मिलेगा चार बच्चे स्कूल जाते है inter class मे उनके साथ गार्जन को जाना पड़ता है रास्ते मे भालू बाग के डर से

In this occasion, try to use indian culture. use leaves, nd keep some shower points for people who comes for bath and don't use any plastic items nd don't allow any plastic items into the temple or outside of temple nd near by area use steel glass nd keep water tanks
