The District Administration Baghpat invites citizens, youth, innovators and institutions from across India on MyGov to share innovative and practical ideas to transform the Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri Mela into a Zero Waste Mahotsav on theme “Bhakti Bhi, Prakriti Bhi”.

Building on the successful implementation of a Zero Waste model during Falguni Mahashivratri 2026 celebrations, this initiative aims to further strengthen sustainable practices and develop Baghpat as a model for green and responsible religious gatherings in India.

Aligned with the vision of Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), Swachh Bharat and sustainable tourism, the initiative promotes environmentally responsible behaviour, reduction of waste, resource efficiency and community participation in large public events.

What kind of ideas are we looking for?
1. Participants are encouraged to submit practical, scalable and innovative ideas in areas such as:
a. Waste management and zero waste systems
b. Plastic-free alternatives for melas and religious events
c. Eco-friendly materials and green infrastructure
d. Awareness campaigns and behavioural change strategies
e. Volunteer and youth engagement models
f. Use of technology (apps, QR-based services, monitoring systems, etc.)
g. Sustainable tourism and visitor management

How to participate?
1. Submit your idea in maximum 200–300 words
2. Focus on solutions that can be practically implemented on ground
3. You may include examples, models or case references

What will happen to your ideas?
Selected ideas will be reviewed by the District Administration and considered for implementation during the Shravani Mahashivratri Mela scheduled in second week of August 2026. Selected contributions may also be recognised as part of a district-led innovation initiative and documented as good practices.

This is an opportunity to contribute to building a national model of sustainable religious events, promote environmental responsibility, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. Your ideas can help demonstrate how tradition, technology and sustainability can work together for a better future.

Mera sujhav hai ki Bharat mein civic sense aur safai ko badhava dene ke liye ek national awareness campaign chalaya jaye. Schools, colleges aur social media ke zariye logon ko public places par safai rakhne, kooda dustbin mein daalne aur public property ka samman karne ki aadat sikhayi jaye. Saath hi, ek aisa system ho jahan nagrik gandagi ki photo aur location upload karke aasani se report kar saken, aur unhe safai abhiyan mein yogdan dene ke liye protsahan (rewards/certificates) bhi diya ja sake. Mera maanna hai ki sirf kanoon se nahi, balki achhe civic sense se hi Bharat aur zyada saaf aur behtar ban sakta hai.

Shri Parshurameshwar Pura Mahadev Mahashivratri can be transformed into India's first 'AI-Enabled Zero Waste Spiritual Festival.' Every devotee should receive a QR-based Digital Green Devotee Pass, enabling them to participate in eco-friendly activities such as tree plantation, plastic waste collection, waste segregation, water conservation, and cleanliness drives. Participants can earn 'Green Merit Points,' which can be redeemed for prasad coupons, certificates, local handicrafts, or special recognition. The temple premises should incorporate solar energy systems, AI-supported smart waste management, biodegradable packaging, and digital carbon footprint tracking. This initiative can be expanded nationwide under the vision of 'One Temple – One Green Revolution,' creating a sustainable and environmentally responsible spiritual tourism model for India. The union of devotion to Mahadev and commitment to nature can become a true symbol of Viksit Bharat 2047."

Baghpat can become India’s first “Green Pilgrimage Model” by introducing a Digital Green Seva Mission during the Mahashivratri Mela. Every devotee should receive a QR-based Green Pass to join eco-friendly activities. By using refill water stations, returning plastic waste, planting a sapling, or disposing of waste correctly, visitors earn Green Points redeemable for Prasad coupons, certificates, or souvenir gifts. Install AI-supported smart waste bins with separate sections for wet, dry and religious waste. Convert temple flowers into compost and incense sticks, and ensure all food is served only in biodegradable pattal, dona and kulhads. My Bharat, NSS, NCC and local youth should lead Green Seva Teams. A live dashboard should display waste recycled, plastic saved and volunteer contributions. This scalable model will promote Mission LiFE, Swachh Bharat and establish Baghpat as a national benchmark for sustainable religious tourism.

"Supply of major nutrients to all vegetation through Rain 🌧️ " The nitric acid rain caused by mixing of nitric oxides with atmospheric water from various sources viz. automobiles & industrial emissions, etc. or by inducing through artificial reaction. Then nitric acid clouds by seeding with potassium carbonate & DAP powder undergoes reaction to form potassium nitrate including phoporous. Nitrate, Ammonium, Phosporous and potassium supplements dissolved all along with rain water is a boon to all the vegetation. Instead of supplying inorganic fertilizers to the farmers in which facing various hindrances viz. shortage of urea, DAP & SOP, etc. by the application directly to the any kind of crops through rain is very cost effective, uninterrupted supply, supporting rainfed crops inturn minimise the irrigation scarcity uniform supply of major nutrients irrespective of demand by the farmers.
