As per the recommendations made in NEP 2020, a set of standards has been developed to ensure that all students at all levels of school education are taught by passionate, motivated, highly qualified, professionally trained, and well-equipped teachers. National Professional Standard for Teachers(NPST) would help in determining the attributes of the teachers at different levels of career pathways. In addition to this, NPST focuses on preparations, practice and performance improvement of all teachers. The standards and related policies are in line with the fundamental principles given in the NEP 2020 to provide high quality education to all. NCTE was mandated by the Ministry to formulate a guiding document and platform for operationalizing NPST.

National Professional Standard for Teachers (NPST) will monitor the design of pre-service teacher education program. This could be then adopted by states and determine all aspects of teacher career management, including tenure, professional development efforts, salary increases, promotions, and other recognitions.

In this regard, a draft document on NPST has been developed by NCTE after incorporating ideas and suggestions received from experts of various domains. The draft document has been released on November 17, 2021 to invite the suggestions and feedback from all stakeholders.

Resp. All, Teachers r sculptures of mind. Teachers therefore shud inculcate tht each mind is different. So sculpting them shud be done differently. I suggest tht a teacher should undergo a Psychology programme. Not just this but a teacher shud also be provided with a counselling sessions.. becoz a teacher can get stressed easily when dealing wid so many different brains and minds. A teacher shud be at peace when teaching, so shud be given such sessions to enhance their efficiency!!

The beginner level teacher should give opportunity to all types of ITI graduates. Other Diploma and ITI holders like D.Ed should also be allowed to enter as Primary School Teachers. Elementary school should also welcome everyone to be open to the teaching profession. Those with work experience in the field are equivalent to teachers. Entrepreneurs, engineers, doctors, even teachers need an opportunity to become.

The place of a teacher in Indian culture is above God. Such a teacher must be the best man. Entrance exams for that teacher job and training should be tough. The National Entrance Examination should be training and compulsory. It is necessary for training and work. Teacher training exams should be tougher than NEET, CA. The reservation for teacher training and work should be rejected in the national interest.

Strict rules should be followed for selecting level teachers other than beginner level teacher selections. Teacher training exams should be the most difficult exam in India. Because it is the teachers who are going to build the future pillars of India. Teachers should therefore excel in academic and departmental experience. Experience does not come without industry-specific participation.
