As per the recommendations made in NEP 2020, a set of standards has been developed to ensure that all students at all levels of school education are taught by passionate, motivated, highly qualified, professionally trained, and well-equipped teachers. National Professional Standard for Teachers(NPST) would help in determining the attributes of the teachers at different levels of career pathways. In addition to this, NPST focuses on preparations, practice and performance improvement of all teachers. The standards and related policies are in line with the fundamental principles given in the NEP 2020 to provide high quality education to all. NCTE was mandated by the Ministry to formulate a guiding document and platform for operationalizing NPST.

National Professional Standard for Teachers (NPST) will monitor the design of pre-service teacher education program. This could be then adopted by states and determine all aspects of teacher career management, including tenure, professional development efforts, salary increases, promotions, and other recognitions.

In this regard, a draft document on NPST has been developed by NCTE after incorporating ideas and suggestions received from experts of various domains. The draft document has been released on November 17, 2021 to invite the suggestions and feedback from all stakeholders.

Language Practice in the Classroom Create situations in class to initiate conversations and make use of those situations. Use different techniques in answering questions. Practice the four skills in every lesson. Introduce variety in your class. This makes your teaching more enjoyable. A puzzle, a riddle, role-playing, competition, picture…etc. will make your teaching much more interesting.

Classroom Management Your lesson mustn’t be teacher dominated. Be fair and distribute turns equally among your students and don’t show any favoritism or bias. Be friendly with your students and create a proper atmosphere and social climate. To do this, you have to enjoy teaching and like your students and learn their names as soon as possible. Don’t hold your class in fear and tension. Make your class relaxed and enjoyable.

Lesson Planning Plan your work carefully and work your plan effectively. Never go into class without an elaborate lesson plan. Set your lesson objectives first and be clear about them. Your Objectives must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed). Prepare your teaching materials in advance and use them effectively. Expect behavioral problems and try to find solutions for them.

As a teacher, you need to reflect on your teaching practices frequently and take responsibility to improve your performance. Many aspects related to teaching e.g. lesson planning, classroom management techniques, language practice, … need to be improved from time to another so that you can boost your classroom performance and get the students to achieve the desired learning objectives,

At last quality of teachers is not shown through his marks scored during g entrance. Many IAS officers judges of SC score good give good interviews and at last end up their life in corruption. If you don't agree then tell me why Corruption is still there if they trust so much on their constitution and take pledge of it before joining the job.And then sent dare to tell their ministers that they are doing wrong. Same happens with teachers. So teachers should be given regular training n psychology

....guidance according to his talents explored by him in his children throughout the school life. 8. Teachers also need to throw corruption away if they want corruption free india. 9. Principals should be strict and punctual. 10. An understanding teacher who knows his students weakness and strengths is like a gift of life.He really proves beneficial for our future personality. But unfortunately there are very few who understand this.
