As per the recommendations made in NEP 2020, a set of standards has been developed to ensure that all students at all levels of school education are taught by passionate, motivated, highly qualified, professionally trained, and well-equipped teachers. National Professional Standard for Teachers(NPST) would help in determining the attributes of the teachers at different levels of career pathways. In addition to this, NPST focuses on preparations, practice and performance improvement of all teachers. The standards and related policies are in line with the fundamental principles given in the NEP 2020 to provide high quality education to all. NCTE was mandated by the Ministry to formulate a guiding document and platform for operationalizing NPST.

National Professional Standard for Teachers (NPST) will monitor the design of pre-service teacher education program. This could be then adopted by states and determine all aspects of teacher career management, including tenure, professional development efforts, salary increases, promotions, and other recognitions.

In this regard, a draft document on NPST has been developed by NCTE after incorporating ideas and suggestions received from experts of various domains. The draft document has been released on November 17, 2021 to invite the suggestions and feedback from all stakeholders.

Teacher should find out and call to real motivator for sharing success journey and success key points among students. Motivator should not be professional, should be social and desire to help students in education. Education system not only for students but also for society. Teachers should educate people about the voting process, agriculture, and health, as well as how to prevent corruption and increase professional abilities. Teachers must stay at the school village, always available to interact with village people to solve their problems. Ultimately, India will educate.

A Human being is the final result of his growing environment and what he faith and belief systems that are inculcated into him from the very impressionable childhood. You will agree we had such great Scholars, Leaders, Revolutionaries, Brave men in our country who invariably were instilled the qualities right from their childhood by the first teacher (Mother) along with the food they gave the child. Hence teacher should have the right qualities, Aptitude, Love and responsibility to be teacher.

After joining the service of teaching one should not be allowed to leave the service at least for 5 years. Mostly unemployed youth when get selected as a teacher, again start preparing for other exams and does not impart his duties with full soul for the work (teaching) given to him. By this his students suffer a lot for whole life.

The framework of standards is progressive, reflecting the progression expected of teachers as their professional attributes, knowledge, understanding and skills develop and they demonstrate increasing effectiveness in their roles. Post Threshold Teachers are able to act as role models for teaching and learning, make a distinctive contribution to raising standards across the school, continue to develop their expertise post threshold and provide regular coaching.

May be everyone is correct in their perspectives. But, what I believe is that, our education system has good and bad practices. In order to bring it, up to the mark to compete with other countries, we need to stop this trend - just trained once, survive till the syllabus change. We have to keep educate a teacher, and institution for once in a quarter regardless of the changes in the subject. Also, I am enclosing some of my opinions which may be good if we implement.
