As per the recommendations made in NEP 2020, a set of standards has been developed to ensure that all students at all levels of school education are taught by passionate, motivated, highly qualified, professionally trained, and well-equipped teachers. National Professional Standard for Teachers(NPST) would help in determining the attributes of the teachers at different levels of career pathways. In addition to this, NPST focuses on preparations, practice and performance improvement of all teachers. The standards and related policies are in line with the fundamental principles given in the NEP 2020 to provide high quality education to all. NCTE was mandated by the Ministry to formulate a guiding document and platform for operationalizing NPST.

National Professional Standard for Teachers (NPST) will monitor the design of pre-service teacher education program. This could be then adopted by states and determine all aspects of teacher career management, including tenure, professional development efforts, salary increases, promotions, and other recognitions.

In this regard, a draft document on NPST has been developed by NCTE after incorporating ideas and suggestions received from experts of various domains. The draft document has been released on November 17, 2021 to invite the suggestions and feedback from all stakeholders.

The Indian education system has gone under revamping amidst of Covid Pandemic to reintroduce its new version as NEP 2020 which has tailored syllabus at the level of Matriculation & HSC by deleting lengthy Course Curriculum. While in follow ups of NEP 2020,its imperative to raise National Professional standard of Teachers so that at every level of studies, students are groomed with set of skills to learn with a great zeal.Viveversa Teacher's should exceed student's passion of learning.

Respected PM sir Now a days b'cos of technology students find it hard practically they gain little where as most of thier home works or any practice given to them is carried out by family members and friends.Teachers should actively follow up students individual performances. Now days teachers themself tell thier parents to send student to tutions I have come across such things. This made me feel that teachers may be less educated then those who r giving tutions or tey lack confidence ....

1) Since teachers are building future of the nation therefore they must join any educational institution with proper qualification after qualifying competitive exams. 2) There should be periodic proper training of Teachers with respect to modern teaching aids and gadgets. 3) There should be monthly performance test for teachers to test depth of their knowledge. 4) Teachers should be changed from time to time if they fail to qualify performance test and knowledge test.
