High petrol loss and Pollution are caused due to traffic jam everyday due to same timing of group of companies leaving their employee everyday ,this can be overcome by scheduling different timing for each companies
so that there would be less traffic and less pollution Eg. If 15 companies leave their employee at 6pm so it can be scheduled to 5companies at 4pm other 5companies at
5pm and other 5companies at 6pm this may reduce traffic jam

As there would be many alternatives, few prominent ones that i like to suggest are,
1. Prefer Bicycle to reach office workplace and college one day a week .
2. Car-Pooling with colleagues, friends, flatmates once a week.
3. Use public transport and metro train services once a week.
4. Also put off the engine when your car/ bike are being idle in traffic for more than few minutes, in traffic signals etc.
these steps will greatly reduce the consumption of petrol/diesel on a larger scale.

As motivational encoragement I suggest following:
1) Offices can promote and acknowledge such people who do not use petrol diesel for a day...like "Environmental star for the day" with token of appreciation etc...
2) Each mkt/university area can have one day etc. are not encouraged for once a week.(but with proper parking outside)
3) To promote culture of walking in long run govt can create dedicated walkways in more movement area...

The best idea can be a device can be manufacturef which converts kinetic centfifugal energy into electrical energy and this energy which will be produced by rotating of wheels of a bicycle can be used to charge a mobile phone and because of this reason people will use bicycles for short distances which will save electricity along with fuel. It will be a good idea because in day to day life a lot of electricity and fuel is wasted on smartphones and vehicles.

the representatives of the people to the legislature and their family should set an example by avoiding petrol / diesel one day in a week and go by alternative modes of transport.
