During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it is proposed to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged all citizens to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week. He has said that if 125 crore Indians pledge to do this, the dream of a ‘New India’ can be achieved.

Citizens are invited to suggest ways for encouraging and motivating the masses to avoid the usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day, every week.

1. Promote walk/cycle to work/school by announcing incentives - reduction in tax for employees and reduction in tution fee for the school students. 2. Make separate tracks on raod for walking and cycling for safety and convenience. 3. Arrange cycle booths that people can rent the cycles from. There should be network of such booths where people can pick in one booth and drop in another booth for better utilization.

There must be mandatory provision that before purchasing a vehicle, every citizen must have his personal parking area to park his vehicle, and tag that parking area with GPS and give a unique id . with this anauthorised parking in streets, foothpath, roadsides, parks can be stopped. secondly, dedicated corridor should be developed on side of road for safe cycling and if any one drive his vehicle on this corridor his vehicle must be forfeited forever instead of heavy fine.

Very Simple Solution - PM Modi Sir has such an impact on Public, that if he Says to Public "They have to travel via public transport or via cycle for a day in a week", than around 50% public will start the moment & by seeing those, rest 50% will join the moment, so Simple, #PCRA, #MPNG, #MyGov 1.use cycle 2.increase government bus count (give neat an quality bus to travel not like tamil nadu kaniyakumari buses )

It is my appeal to Gov to launch a mobile based application for Govt employee to search and share pooled transport for their office. This may certainly reduce CAR on the Roads.

One of the many Great initiatives!! Cycling paths are one of the basic requirements for this initiative. 1. If at the local area level the administration decides no private vehicles for one day in a week in that area, this could support the initiative & will also reduce entire pressure on public transport on the same day. 2. Car pooling is made compulsory - minimum 2 or 3 people in every car. 3. Parking lots near public transport stations 4. Safe & clean public transport system

I wish to congratulate the govt for this initiative towards Greener and clean India. As Metro is the life line of Delhi and NCR, most of officegoer travel by Metro. If there will be a provision of secured Cycle Parking at Metro Stations people will definitely opt to travel by cycle to the metro station. This facility can be further extended for rented bicycle at places where more people deboard for their offices. This can also be done for major bus stops and at Canaught Place no vehicle zone

Encouraging cycling is good idea. but only few roads are constructed with cycling path. if it is made mandatory that all roads should have separate cycling path more people will travel by Bicycle.at least one day in a week should keep aside for bicycles, cycle rickshaws and animal carts for moving goods.Electric vehicles are also yet another solution for substituting the petrol/diesel vehicles.
