During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it is proposed to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged all citizens to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week. He has said that if 125 crore Indians pledge to do this, the dream of a ‘New India’ can be achieved.

Citizens are invited to suggest ways for encouraging and motivating the masses to avoid the usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day, every week.

Definitely yes, if it improves our economy. Cycling would be best choice - it is good for health too. However, we need to take into account aged, differently abled etc. Run skeleton public transport. It will be even better if all politicians, government employees join this effort. Create better public transport system wherein even a CEO feels comfortable travelling. Developing solar powered vehicles is another solution - this requires much R&D efforts; encourage private sector towards this.

This can be effectively implemented at organisation level and can be part KRA as well. Government can promote such kind of initiative 1) Employees who avoid using any vehicle and travel by public transport or simply walk 2) Employees who uses car pooling 3) Employees who always provide lift to his colleague who does not have vehicle 4) Promote employees to participate in Marathon through CSR which will increase fitness level of employees and may think to give up vehicle for short distance

Adarniya Mahodaya, Inviting suggestions through encouragement/motivation will not give solid results. On the contrary strict ordanance in the following manner will definitely yield results indeed:- that Parents will strictly barr Children / Students from giving vehicles for driving upto 12th standard (2 or 4 wheeler},. In real sence it is playing havoc. With above Rule promulgation,Transport department too will be strict. It will reduce traffic congestion & Fuel depletion with pollution.Regards.

Dear Mygov.in members,I have only one advise in that case from that I feel myself too much proud- Bicycling, Ya,the best solution for that matter. If on first day of every month/every 4 month why not a bicycle day conducted In brief,In this day all people use bicycle for long distance and walk for short distance, and these day no allowance of vehicles only for emergency cases allowed. In this day only Bicycle,e-Rikshaw,E-Bikes,e-cars,etc. allowed which don't use petrol or diesel "Bicycle"

Please reserve at least 50%(for example) of public vehicle parking space controlled by Govt. agencies only for bi-cycles one day in a week. This will be automatically get implemented.

Govt should create a path and lead first. without paving the path and be asking the people to steer left and right is going to end up in violation of laws and unlawful agitations. Instead of pushing laws to current date try to place laws on a road map ahead so that people will have time to evolve to the law and there will be time to fine tune the laws [Read more: File attached]
