Inviting Suggestions to Encourage / Motivate the Masses to Avoid Petrol/Diesel Use for One Day in a Week

During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it is proposed to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged all citizens to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week. He has said that if 125 crore Indians pledge to do this, the dream of a ‘New India’ can be achieved.

Citizens are invited to suggest ways for encouraging and motivating the masses to avoid the usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day, every week.

The last date of submission is 15th April, 2017, 12:00PM

Every Second Saturday and Sunday being Central and State Government, Bank Holiday. Our team will cycle or walk to conduct all our activities in these two days. Thus saving minimum 15 liters of petrol every month.

I think one of the fear, which stops people from using things like bicycles for travelling is other heavier vehicles like car, motor bikes, buses , trucks etc. Fear of meeting with an accident with these vehicle somewhere stops people. One option might be to build a separate track beside roads for non polluting vehicles like bicycles. Obviously we Indian will try to drive there as well with heavy vehicles but we need to build roads so that only non polluting vehicles could be used.

Dear PM n MoPNG Cycle is an environment-friendly, non-polluting vehicle. Like many developed countries, cycling should be promoted. Benefit 1. Our country will have huge saving on crude oil by importing less. 2. Our country will save money on medical facilities due to less environmental hazards. 3. Road will have less traffic jam and also less parking issue 4. People will remain physically fit due to cycling in less polluted environment 5. The road accidents and deaths will be less

I walk everyday to go to and from my workplace (at Mandigaon road, Chhattarpur, New Delhi). But it is also a safety issue. In the roads leading to our office, we have almost no footpath. And vehicles runs so fast that it gets very risky to walk even on day. So to encourage people to avoid cars etc we must create proper footpath/cycle track along the main roads. This should be taken care of when a new construction work order is issued for any road. #MPNG #PCRA #MyGov

पैट्रॉल बचाने के विकल्प के तौर पर लोगो मे जागरूकता लाने की जरूरत है।पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट में वृद्धि,कंपनी द्वारा अपने कर्मचारियों के लिए ट्रांसपोर्ट की व्यवस्था। महीने में एक दिन वाहन न लाने का संकल्प। नेताओं के काफिले में बेजा वाहनों का इस्तेमाल।किसी भी धर्मिक आयोजन,उत्सव,या विरोध में वाहन रेली पर प्रतिबंध। दो से अधिक कार न रखने के लिए लोगो मे सहमति आदि माध्यमो से हम इस पर काबू पा सकते है।

Sir, As per your message, During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand half of the amount is. Rs. 2.41 lakh crores would be from government vehicles. It would be good if the government takes steps to stop use of government vehicles for personal use by officials and staffs.

Sir, Individually if you leave it to every one, nobody is going to do it. We have to create a movement out of it. Designate a particular day like Wednesday or Thursday either across India or State wise different days. Announce through news paper, put in all medias, use film/cricket personalities, so gradually people will follow the suit. Ask the office going people to travel together with friends on that day, intimate all housing societies through municipalities / panchayats. Jai Hind

(In continue from my previous comment) One way could be encourage citizen use renewable energies (elecricity, solar, wind and water energy) for most needs. Section wise promotion of devoiding use of fossil fuel like a day when all public office goers not to use private vehicles and use public transport. Then may be extented to more citizens. Promote grocery business to use localized and seasonal produce. This avoids transportation cost. Not in totality but partially we can achieve.
