Government should link aadhar and vehicle number to limit supply of fuel
As people may look for incentives for reducing petroleum consumption:
A proper awareness campaign reaching to the grass root level must be conducted to highlight the benefits to people, environment and for our nation
Free public transport coupon to be issued once to those who put their vehicles to rest.
Encourage people to report high emission vehicles to the authorities.
Phase out vehicles that consume high volumes

Cycling, hiring cycle rickshaws, walking are some of the ways to
avoid usage of petrol/diesel for one day in a week. Wastage of
fuel should also be avoided during rest of the week by switching
of engine while waiting at the signals, availing car pooling
services, using public transport as much as possible during the
remaining days of the week to save fuel. Walking short distances
will also lead to healthy lifestyle and at the same time save fuel.

"जय हिंद जय भारत" #PCRA #MPNG #MyGov

Dear Sir,
An initiative can be launched like Swachch Bharat called "Aao Chaltein hain" which encourages people to take up walking whenever and whereever possible. Generally high ranking officials, senior corporate executives are trend setters who can send this message. This will also help India fight other evil "obesity and lifestyle diseases". This would certainly require investment in pedestrian space making them safer and spacious as most of them are currently encroached by hawkers.
