During the year 2015-16, India spent Rs.4.82 lakh crores on imports to fulfill domestic demand. To reduce the import burden, and also to work towards to a greener environment, it is proposed to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week.

Our Hon’ble Prime Minister has urged all citizens to avoid usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day in a week. He has said that if 125 crore Indians pledge to do this, the dream of a ‘New India’ can be achieved.

Citizens are invited to suggest ways for encouraging and motivating the masses to avoid the usage of Petrol/Diesel for one day, every week.

The last date of submission is 15th April, 2017, 12:00PM

why not mark the unused government land to be used as plantation ground and on every public holiday, masses are encouraged from different institutions such as school, government office, NGO, Private & public companies to plant a sample? this initiative can be taken by NGT, Forest department.

Sir in my opinion we should link ADHAAR card with buying of petrol/diesel and limit buying up-to 7-10 liters/week . For example: 1. if a person has brought 5 liters of petrol in 4 days of week he can now purchase only 2-3 liters now in remaining days of week . 2. if a person has used 7-10 liters of petrol then he will get petrol in next succeeding week. 3. Indian gov should make compulsory the use of bicycles for distance up-to 10 km on Sundays . 4. adhaar card can monitor buying of petrol.

3.Increase the car pooling concept.In Metro cities make the IT parks to have their own car pooling apps, which will be more safer and worthy. This will reduce the traffic, pollution and fuel consumption. 4.Increase the use of Electric vehicles 5.Govt should start cycles and electric two wheeler taxis(driven by customer himself) near metro station, bus stations, rail way station, so that people will use more public transport and for smaller distance travel they will use these taxis.

Avoiding the usage of Fuel for one full day all over the country will be difficult, but can be restricted to some areas like Temples, Play grounds, Parks, inside IT parks. This can be done not only for one day but for all 7 days of the week. Few more ways are there with which we can reduce the fuel consumption. 1. Setting a fixed amount of Fuel per vehicle (Egs:Cars(Except commercial):40ltrs/month) 2.Rule should me made that minimum of 2 or 3 persons should travel in cars not less.

Prof.Sadhana Nikam, Chalisgaon To avoid mass consumption of petrol & diesel, various measures can be applied like use of bicycles, sharing of one vehicle on same route, use of carbon free fuels which reduces the wastage of fuel, minimum use of vehicles & walking habit for maintaining healthy life. For metro cities strict application for minimum use & wastage of petrol & diesel within once in a week.

We should make a routine that how much petrol and diesel or fossil fuels we have to use in each week and we will not allowed to use any more of the routine and we should always work according to this routine and in this way we will able to save many many natural resources( petrol and diesel)...thank you

If each metro stations can be 100% monitored, why can't our traffic system monitor bus stands specially those are near to Red lights as it has been observed that mostly the traffic jams happens because of unauthorized parking near bus stands & crowded public areas like shopping market and have instant communication facility available to interact with those people.

Additionally we can also limit the use of Petrol/ Diesel by reducing Jam in the cities like Delhi, with the online/instant traffic monitoring system. I have observed so many times that on every Bus stop/ metro stations stop, shared auto drivers park their vehicles to take as many passengers as possible, resulting in jam & the people tend to wait on the streets & causes a jam when 2 or more bus arrives at the same time as no bus stops in front of the dedicated area.
