The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

Women play a key role in society They are multitaskers dealing with everything in and out. They are like treasure trove to our country The main theme is always surrounds around protecting women rather it can be more emphasized on nurturing manners in other beings to deal with women.

Marriage certi. data should be a matter of couple&government only, even not include parents or any other people because there may be some complications if some radical group of people threats either parents/couples.Also restrict people to change the religion after marriage atleast for 3years.If there is any love marriage then the person should love his/her spouse in the same religiononly, what she follows. This can be traced by marriage certi.only.This may help Govt.to deal with religionchangecases

As I suggested once that making Marriage Certificates mandatory for every couple in India, can remove child marriages. This may also help to remove dowrysystem by inclusion of PANrecords in it.Just make necessary for a couple, their livingParents (both father, mother, mother in law, fatherinlaw)to produce PAN cards before marriage.Data can be taken byAadhar also.Limit the usage of money in marriages&includedata in marriage certificate data.Thiscandefinitely restrict people to exchangeatleastbig dowry.

The biggest weapon we have against any kind of social problem is education. Unfortunately, a lot of women in our country are not educated and thus fall in trap of domestic violence. Provide women with atleast an undergraduate degree and their families with tax concessions and other attractive benefits(like tax rebates). In this way families in backward areas will be encouraged to educate women which will in turn create more awareness among women amongst women against domestic violence.
