The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

sometimes women are not having courage to approach hence there should be call from the govt in verification, whether she is facing violence. even the husband may also be taken on joint call so that no one lie. later on if violence is found the male can be subjected to false statement. this call can give message to the husband, males that they are watched

Please go through this very disturbing piece of information: https://www.indiatoday.in/latest-headlines/story/girls-drugged-into-puberty-sold-as-prostitutes-75288-2010-05-27 Can it be true? Has our country gone so morally down? Can central government take any action in this matter or get aside citing it a state matter to let it be buried after doing some inquiry?

Continued........... Respecting each other and treating each other equally is essential for mutual co-existence. Providing equal opportunity in fields of education, job, sports and other areas of interest is vital for mutual growth. Violence and injustice must be stopped and such incidents should be seriously dealt with. Gender abuse must be taken seriously and action should be taken against culprits. Ethics, morality and culture of co-existence must be inculcated right from childhood days.

It has been notice since last so many years Every 6 minutes a false dowry & case is filed in India and an innocent family is destroyed . There should be Stringent punishment for the guilty irrespective of gender. Eg if a women is found to have filed a false case then she should punished a way that no other women should dare to misuse law. At the same time if a man is found to have raped a women then he should also be punished in a way that no other men could ever dare to do anything like that.

Gender discrimination must be addressed at its core level. The fight against gender discrimination must begin at home. The belief that men are superior to women should be first defeated. Woman are equal to men in all aspects. In fact, man is equally dependent on woman as much as, woman is dependent on man. Both men and woman are dependent on each other for various aspects. Both men and women have to co-exist with each other. Equality needs to be practiced for mutual co-existence.

An education system that will teach to recognize/analyze/communicate a broad range of emotions, values, strategies and how to sustain higher biases. This will help in critical flight/fight situations to be able to speak our needs in a way that moves the other to respond constructively rather than engage in animalistic violence. Nonviolent communication applied to a range of crime case scenarios that averts violence but sustains higher bias should be enacted for various stages of life.
