The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

ACCORDING TO ME SIR, PARENTS TEACHER MEETING YA BHIR WOMEN,S DAY PAR PARENTS KO EK LESSON DEENA CHAIYE "WHAT TO SAY OR WHAT TO NOT SAY TO YOUR DAUGHTER." BECAUSE PARENTS ARE ALSO HUMAN. ANNE WALE TIME KE LIYA YE KARNA BAHUT JAROOREE HAI. JABH GROWTH EK ACHE POSITIVE ENIVERNOMENT MAIN HOGI TOH FOR FUTURE MAIN YE GENDER KA KOI DIFFERENCE NHI HOGA. BUT FOR NOW, WE NEED TO MAKE WOMEN AWARE ABOUT GOVERNMENTS POLICES, MAKE WOMEN TO NOT TAKE ANY VIOLENCE. MAKE THEM KALI. MAKE THEM SELF-RELIANCE.

To protect respect and honour for the women, only one Govt job should be entitled in a family ie. husband and wife. In case of Marriage between both govt employees, one has to resign. In case of resign by wife and subsequently destituted or divorced, half of the salary besides due share of inlaws property will be acceeded to her. It will also be helpful in providing jobs to more number of families as well as bring respect for the women as many employed youth will prefer to marry unemployed wife

Elimination violence against women doesn't mean subjecting other gender to violence through legal system. The laws made for women are being used as weapon instead of shield. The dowry act, 498a, DV act are used for extortion. In the contemporary society violence being perpetrated by women using the gender biased laws. The man doesn't have any remedy if he is subjected to violence by women. It is absolutely uncalled move by the government

Women should be made legal and equal partner in the Inlaws property including residential house. In case of domestic violance where wife is destituted or divorced, the due share of inlaws property should be attached to the destituted wife. The mere maintenance to wife is not sufficient and encourage the criminal voilance against women as she has no right in the inlaws property. Interestingly the daughter are entitled to share of parental property but not in the inlaws property.

The Women who are really facing Violence doesn't know anything about Law. It is the well educated Women who are misusing the Gender Biased Laws. Never seen anything like Elimination of Violence against Men. There are 1020 Women per 1000 Men in India and the reason is suicide rate of Women is about 43000 where Men's suicide rate is 1,05,000 plus. Now that is a huge difference and a matter of concern as almost 70% suicides are due to family/matrimonial issues. Hope for Change soon.

Dear Modi Ji IPC 498A, DV Act 2005, Cr.Pc. 125 are the largest misused laws by Women. After Several Comments on 498A by Supreme Court of India in past 15 years there is absolutely no change from any of the Government. Mothers and Sisters who are falsely dragged into these cases are also Women but no one cares for them too. It is only about Wives. A Man has to pay maintenance to highly qualified wife. Is this the empowerment? This is all about extorting money from Husband. Please #Repeal498A
