Registration of Births and Deaths in India is mandatory with the enactment of Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD), Act 1969 and is done as per the place of occurrence of the event. With a view to simplify the provisions of various sections of the existing RBD Act, 1969 and to make it people friendly, the Government of India has proposed to amend the RBD Act, 1969.

Existing sections of the Act and amendments proposed by the Office of the Registrar General, India (ORGI) are indicated in the first two columns of the proposal respectively.
Ministry of Home Affairs seeks feedback and suggestions along with the justification for the proposed amendments.

There should be more awareness among people,as many of the rules ,regulations, and rights are still far from the knowledge of the people....so need to spread the rights what they have given and make them a jagruk nagrik so that they can use their rights.....

An affidavit should be produced that not offering dowry and other demands and should be attested valid documents Bank Aadhar Pan Ration card certificate of Top of employer medical certificate birth and residential certificate and marriage certificate from marriage hall temple or other community head parents acceptance

Registration of Marriages should be linked with valid Identification like Aadhar..It should be protect from fraudulent and immoral.
