Registration of Births and Deaths in India is mandatory with the enactment of Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD), Act 1969 and is done as per the place of occurrence of the event. With a view to simplify the provisions of various sections of the existing RBD Act, 1969 and to make it people friendly, the Government of India has proposed to amend the RBD Act, 1969.

Existing sections of the Act and amendments proposed by the Office of the Registrar General, India (ORGI) are indicated in the first two columns of the proposal respectively.
Ministry of Home Affairs seeks feedback and suggestions along with the justification for the proposed amendments.

RESPECTED PRIME MINISTER NAMASTHE , Sir , AS WELL AS THE BIRTH REGISTERED IN HOSPITALS DEATH IS ALSO REGISTERED IN HOSPITALS AND IT CAN BE MARKED IN UID AND SHOULD CAN BE VARIFIED

The Act has well defined tfhe responsibility of State and Central Regitarar in optaining details of birth and death maintenance of regisets and issue of relevance certificate to the needy public. present requirements will be adding DNA details wrt mother to be included in birth certificate. Another tall need will be to initiate to allot an athar number for every new born. Maintenance and update of athars be entrusted with Post Offices. . Thismay be considered to incorporated while amending Act.
