Registration of Births and Deaths in India is mandatory with the enactment of Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD), Act 1969 and is done as per the place of occurrence of the event. With a view to simplify the provisions of various sections of the existing RBD Act, 1969 and to make it people friendly, the Government of India has proposed to amend the RBD Act, 1969.

Existing sections of the Act and amendments proposed by the Office of the Registrar General, India (ORGI) are indicated in the first two columns of the proposal respectively.
Ministry of Home Affairs seeks feedback and suggestions along with the justification for the proposed amendments.

The civil registration records of births and deaths are necessary to compile accurate, complete and timely vital statistics, which, along with population censuses are central to estimating population size especially for small areas. Birth certificates contain a wealth of data that are important for national surveillance, research, and directing public health prevention and intervention strategies.

Some of the benefits of registering after one’s death are: To prove the time and date of death To establish the claim on property and to access business and financial entitlements To claim any available insurance and other benefits To establish the fact of death for relieving the individual from social, legal and official obligations. To enable settlement of property inheritance

The Registration of Births & Deaths Act, 1969, it is mandatory to register every birth/stillbirth and death in the concerned state all births and deaths that have occurred either in a home or a hospital shall be reported within 21 days of their occurrence to the concerned Registrar/Sub-registrar in whose jurisdiction the event has occurred. The Government accordingly has provided for a well-defined system for registration of Birth, with the Registrar General at the registrars in the states.

The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969. Long Title: An Act to provide for the regulation of registration of births and deaths and for matters connected therewith. Registration is vital for national planning. The civil registration records of births and deaths are necessary to compile accurate, complete and timely vital statistics, which, along with population censuses are central to estimating population size especially for small areas.

We have chain of common service centers through out the nation. All these centres should provide the registration works of birth & death for bringing ease to our public, keeping government works to minimum for regulating & controlling the functioning of the department.

It is necessary to bring amnesty scheme for correcting birth dates in certificate for the children's born in villages where birth dates are recordee wrongly due to lack of knowledge. Amnesty scheme will help youth of this country who wants to correct the birth date but are unable to do so due to no prescribed rules for the same. Today's youth who were unable to even comment on the same should be given an opportunity to correct their birth dates in certificate. Datum line of 1990 should be fixed.

Sir, i do not know much about the registration of birth and death laws by our executives & parliament but I know the real harrassment to get enlisted for getting certificate by our federal govts where Inspectors and clerks do the needful,,, making laws r very easy but execution of such laws without corruption r near impossible,,,,, 1st--- citizen must know and understand what the laws r meant to them??? then they should come forward and be helpful to the masses who r facing the burnt of p'''''''

Its accurate data ongoingly necessary for governance ,to take adequate measures on resources required to administer total population of country ,like land ,infrastructure ,food supplies ,water ,housing ,ration ,clothing ,transport ,employment ,education ,govt schemes ,subsidies ,senior citizen support ,for entire country prorate to data available

सरकार एक ऐसी डिजिटल माध्यम की व्यवस्था करें जिससे सभी सरकारी और गैर सरकारी संगठन या संस्था आवश्यक्ता पड़ने पर जन्म व मृत्यु प्रमाण पत्र आवेदक या आग्रहकर्ता न मांग कर सरकार द्वारा डिजिटल प्लेटफार्म पर अपलोड किए हुए सत्यापित प्रमाणपत्र सभी संस्था या संगठन स्वतः ही देख , डाउनलोड या उपयोग करे । किसी भी जन को अपने साथ उपयुक्त दस्तावेज साथ लेकर न चलना पड़े ।

Sir,1. If madrasa and church are private properties then why there salaries to molvies. If they are teaching jihad in madarsa then why govt providing grants to them. 2.Why there is reservation on caste basis.please impliment reservation on merit and financial condition basis. 3.Police do not taking civilian complaint on priority. They are busy in only collecting money from wrongdoers and not interested to give justice to victims. 4.why there is not costs cutting in govt officials, minister.
