In India, under the Registration of Births & Deaths Act, 1969, it is mandatory to register every birth/stillbirth and death in the concerned state/UT. In layman terms, all births and deaths that have occurred either in a home or a hospital shall be reported within 21 days of their occurrence to the concerned Registrar/Sub-registrar in whose jurisdiction the event has occurred. The Government accordingly has provided for a well-defined system for registration of Birth.

Registration is vital for national planning. The civil registration records of births and deaths are necessary to compile accurate, complete and timely vital statistics, which, along with population censuses are central to estimating population size especially for small areas.

Countries need to know how many people are born and die each year – and the main causes of their deaths – in order to have well-functioning health systems. The only way to count everyone and to track all births and deaths is through civil registration. Civil registration provides the basis for individual legal identity but also allows countries to identify their most pressing health issues.

Sir make a portal, for verification give authority to esign by mukhiya or sarpanch, govt. hospital doctor, first class Gazetted officer or police. Person who will apply need to submit photographs of death person, or PM report or hospital death certificate etc for providing the report. There must not be time consuming or dalal type to involve. Similar to birth certificate.
